*Thanks SDoom for nominating me for constructive award* (a month and a half late)
Anyways, after logging back in after a hiatus, I must say I really love some of the new awards everyone's come up with. I definitely laughed at seeing the ShadowVault related award =)
As well, I've restored 7 hacks (3 points each, 21 total) which qualifies for the novice restorer.
Well, seeing as the stage hack is the main entree (so to speak) I think it would be fine to include it without the BRSTM. It's not like there was a second version of the stage or anything that you were missing. In that case we'd probably have to wait until someone can make a file with all of the versions, but in this case it's probably fine to leave out a little audio file.
I guess my point is, should there be a disclaimer in the description about the missing audio file? Although it may not be a huge deal in this case, I'm sure it could be upsetting if it were instead a CSP/CSS etc. Of course, that's assuming it would still be accepted as a reupload, without the CSP or whatever included.
I tried to set things up in the OP so that it could pretty much maintain itself. I'm not really able to put more time into this. Linking to individual searches of the Vault with reported hacks is about as in depth as I'm going to get.
True. I guess this is one of those rare occasions people ever sift through this quantity of reports.
--------- Important suggestion: Although it probably would be hard to implement soon, for the future, it would be nice to be able to neatly categorize the reason for reported material, with an optional comment. This way, an advanced search could be performed to single out hacks that need a new preview, or a whole new upload (and sort out from defective glitchy hacks).
Fixed entries should probably be striked through (like this), in case someone edits a post, or just for the ease of those fixing the entries.
Also: for the "Mob Town" hack I provided above, I did NOT have the audio file that was listed in the BV description. How should situations like this be handled?
Increasingly, I've noticed the issue of "Error 500" messages recurring (which, correct me if I'm wrong, are due to bandwidth issues). Several users on the forum have decided to move to other sites, including those in LST. I'm not here to condemn their behavior or anything; it certainly is frustrating to put up with these issues. However, what if we took the initiative to solve these problems and prevent unnecessary splits in the Brawl Hacking community?
Assuming that the Error 500 issues can be resolved by paying for higher bandwidth, we could all "chip-in" and donate a bit of money to keep the site running smoothly.
The purpose of this thread: is it worth donating towards, and would you yourself donate? If so, how much?
Whether or not this idea becomes received well is not my concern; I'm more here to get opinions and responses on this idea. Additionally, I don't know much about the finances of the site, so if Picano or someone else central to kc-mm could comment concerning these, to put things in perspective, it would help a lot.
OceanBlue, who retains some of the highest downloaded brstms, hasn't logged in since June 2010. Moreover, he has broken previews that are easy to find replacements for.
Is it possible to change the previews? Who would do so?
Mewtwo, why don't you just edit the CamLimit0N's Y axis, therefore the camera will move up some more, and you can see the castle properly. I just recently did this for my stage that you know about, and you can appreciate it a lot more now.
Only thing, you would also need to raise up the Dead0N bone as well, so it plays normal I guess you could say.
So I assume there isn't a way to just tilt the camera?
I just make the awards sexy, I don't have a say in which ones get made.
Well, whoever does have the say in what awards are made, the Animation Tourney is closed to entries and currently judging. An award would be nice for the winner. @SJS: Assuming this gets approved, don't feel the need to come up with an award before the winner is posted, since you might choose to personalize it. But I suppose that's ultimately up to you.
Lol true. However, if I used the Wait2 or Wait3, I wouldn't be able to have other waiting animations. I had a couple of ideas for more waiting animations that I wanted to do.
Well, I agree with everyone else. The current wait1 should be a wait2 or 3. I don't know what other ideas you have for his waits, but based on his personality from what you've said (I know nothing about DBZ), maybe he could crack his neck, twisting it right and left with each hand. It'd kinda give him more of the aggressive side to him, to contrast his looser, lazy side. As well, his down arial attack flattens out a bit much when he hits a character. I'd make it less so (still cartoony, but slightly more realistic).
I went to the xat link just now, and it says I need to be invited and the chat's private. I'm at a different computer than last week, so is because of that (and do I need to be re-invited), or does this message pop up for everyone?
