I have never head of the game having a black screen before the intro... yikes.
What does the lone .bin file in the st folder do? I am using homebrew and am trying to get a set up going with custom stages.
Edit: more importantly, what files dictate the css? as I am trying to get brawl+ going, I need its css (with the individual pokemon), but not its sss.
Does the common5 effect both...?
editedit: wow, how could I forget such... I'll switch around the selmap and the char_bust_ tex files... only a few months have passed and I almost forgot how to do everything brawl related XD.
If you are having troubles with fitting everything in I would do without peach's castle from melee, as it plays nothing like the original, and the towers block one's view when trying to recover.
I think the music is pretty fine right now, but its up to you. Personally, I have yet to actually find a use for vBrawl's rumble falls, so I just put Brawl+'s back over it so as to free a custom slot.
I am also working on this, but that only thing I can add so far is that whenever I try to change anything in the sc_selmap.pac, the game gets quite upset.
I use dant's alternate stage loader too, and I can confirm that it works with Libertyernies great expansion pack.
BeyondYou posted the stage switcher program required to replace more stages. For example, I replaced Kongo Jungle with a really odd stage that is based on Green Hill Zone. Using the stage switched, I managed to craft a .rel file necessary for the replacement.
This isn't the version that has STGCUSTOM functionality is it?
Also, I tried switching some stage icons again for the sss. This time, I only replaced battlefield's small icon; however, I got the same results where by every stage's preview picture became battlefield's ( note that I only replaced the small selection icon, not the preview picture). Stage names also switched around oddly enough.
I am patient though when it comes to something trivial like this, but if someone could offer some more advice or perhaps even try out my simple methodology, I would be grateful.

Anyways, as I have derailed this thread's discussion with my question about .rel specifics, I would like to nominate FrozenHobo's ssb64 intro stage for this pack. I already replaced the how to play stage with it, so it comes to no personal dissatisfaction if this nomination does not go through.
Also, in FrozenHobo's stage pack for the late Brawl+, there was a stage that replaced 75m I believe. It was this:
It has been so long since I dabbled with .rel files; is there a program that everyone uses to accomplish making them? I am curious if one can make .rel files so that stages other than STGFINAL could be made to cover a STGCUSTOM slot.
