46  Help & Tutorials / Help / Noobish Extra Stages Quetsion on: December 24, 2014, 01:33:27 AM
Hey everyone!

As the title implies, stupid question incoming. What is the best way to add additional stages to Brawl if I'm also using BrawlEX? I've never tried to add extra stages (meaning more then was included in the game to begin with, not just placing a stage over a pre-existing one) and not sure where to start  Kirby Dance

does anyone know how to use the gct codes on WiiFlow or any other Wii program that loads games from Hard drive or flash drive? Trying to get into this BrawEX thing

USBLoaderGX works well, as does the Configurable USB Loader, which is the one I use. Just make sure you have the right hook on (AXNextFrame,or whatever it's called) and the Ocarina codes are turned on
48  Help & Tutorials / Help / SSS Not Loading Images? on: October 27, 2014, 05:49:50 PM
Hi everyone!

So I'm not too sure why this is, but the smaller map preview icons for my Stage Select Screen (the 64x56 sized images - the ones you select to actually choose the stage to play on) are not appearing at all. They all contain the same blank box, but when you hover the cursor over a stage, the name of the stage (my custom named stages, not the default names) appear within the box, as well as all the other boxes on the screen.

This isn't too gamebreaking, as there is no freezing and the larger preview pictures I put in (the 176x176 sized images that appear on the side) load up fine, but it is rather ugly looking and I'd prefer to have the actual stage images.

Any ideas? Could it have something to do with the format I chose for the pictures (I chose CMPR to save file size - that may be the problem actually) or anything like that? I know the sizes are all correct and I've never had any issues with stage icons before

I don't have it, but would also really like this stage. I love the NiGHTS series - never knew anyone did a stage for it
50  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: How to install a Save Game FIle? on: October 23, 2014, 05:23:00 PM
Thanks a lot guys, but I decided to do it the old fashion way and play through the game normally. It's actually been proving quite fun so I'm gonna stick with it. And besides, I think it's just my Wii - never been able to do the SD save moving in my Wii like Gravity mentioned, which is a pain but I can live.

Thanks anyway though - really appreciate it!

Thanks Makarew, but I don't think this is going to do the trick.

The download for the program the guy uses is on megaupload, which doesn't work, and the guide was for swapping the region saves, rather then just getting a new NTSC save to replace the one I've already got. But I know what all the files are for specifically now so I've got one idea left, and if it doesn't work I think I'm gonna just do it the old fashioned way (playing through the game again, as there doesn't seem to be a code to just unlock all music, and I find the unlock codes tend to crash my game a lot after they've been used)

But thank you anyway!
52  Help & Tutorials / Help / How to install a Save Game FIle? on: October 20, 2014, 05:22:15 PM
Hello everyone!

So I'm attempting to load an 100% save file for Brawl onto my wii, as I don't really want to go through the process of unlocking all the music files again (Using a new version of the game - switched from RSBP to RSBE), but don't really know how to go about this. I downloaded a file from wiisaves that contained the following files:

ADVSVO.bin
ADVSV1.bin
AUTOSV0.bin
AUTOSV1.bin
BANNER.bin
COLLECT.VFF
FILELIST.DAT
NET0.bin
NET1.bin
WC24PUBK.MOD

I also downloaded SaveManager GX and have that working fine from the homebrew channel.

So my question is, what do I do with these files, and how do I use SaveManager GX to make the new save? Like I'm not sure if I need to edit the files I downloaded in any way, or where to put them on the sd card, or which files are needed, or what the hell I'm doing with it all.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Kirby Dance

Ah okay then - I didn't think it'd be just so simple like that. I may just leave them alone as I'm not that knowledgeable about everything. Thanks a lot though Kirby Dance

A PSA over a character can't use anything unique to that character. So an attack can't depend on an article of a character or other things. That's where the issues come from.

For instance, I just put Caliking's Roll over Zelda over Marth, since it doesn't use any of Zelda's articles. It's a moveset that works off itself, so it doesn't need anything Zelda related. It's "simple" so to speak. (Even though the moveset is actually cute and fun to play)

So if I understand this right, so long as a PSA isn't dependent on a specific feature of a character, they'll work over any character?

Is there a way to find out whether a character has any of those dependencies from Brawlbox? Never really messed around with making, editing or looking at the content of a PSA file before, so if you can see it on Brawlbox or something else, what should I be looking out for?

Do most all Ness PSA's work over Lucas?

Actually that's something I'm really curious about - how do you know who a PSA works over? Like if I download a PSA designed for Pit, then it works for pit, but how do I know if it works over anyone else?

LolBrawl - Have you looked at the settings in your USB Loader? If there's settings within the loader to turn on codes and mods then do that, if not they should just work anyway.  I play modded NTSC-U Brawl on a PAL Wii just fine - just set up the mods on your SD card appropriately with the right directories, and make sure you have any necessary codes (I think the File Patch Code is the main one to have to make mods run on a loader - I used to use Riivolution until recently). If it doesn't work, try all the different hooks out -AXNextFrame works fine and is necessary for BrawlEx if you go into that.

But yeah, find the File Patch Code. Should be on the OP or somewhere in the downloads from memory, but not that hard to source out.
57  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: How big an SD card can be used? on: September 26, 2014, 10:41:22 PM
Really? Okay, so for instance I use the Configurable USB loader to load an NTSC-U copy of Brawl - I can use any card for that, so long as I have the code?

Also, what is the code? I don't recall seeing it anywhere before
58  Help & Tutorials / Help / How big an SD card can be used? on: September 26, 2014, 08:39:17 PM
Hi guys!

So I'm just wondering if it's possible to use an SD Card that's bigger then 2GB with Brawl. I feel like 2GB (Well probably closer to 1.6 GB given other things that need to be on there) just isn't enough room to fit everything I want in the game (I add a LOT of music) and want to know if I'd be able to get a bigger card to fit more stuff in. Even 4GB would be more then enough, but I need more then 2GB

Okay then - So don't really look at Zelda/Sheik yet, ROB, Toon Link and Falcon (If I swap Falcon's Final Smash, and I don't care about Pikmin) should be fine. But do I have to re-do any of the files, such as the two included modules, config files, and the common 2 file?

I really want to know how to fix the CSS still though
60  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Programming / Re: The Brawl Expansion Project on: August 22, 2014, 02:39:48 PM
Two quick questions:

1)  I recently redid my sc_selcharacter.pac to get the CSS Expansion working, and it's working fine in the sense that extra icons are added and my characters work, but now my CSS Icon pictures are not appearing - instead, they all have the same CSS Icon picture as my 'Random' icon. The characters all work fine and the actual CSP load fine, but it means people won't exactly know what character they're selecting. How to fix this? (It's similar to some of the issues on the 1st post, but different enough that I think it'd have a different fix)

2) Are the new modules in the unstable build okay? I don't care about the Pikmin one, but do the other ones work okay? In particular, it says Toon Link is untested on Console, so has anyone tested? Will Captain Falcon work fine if the PSA replaces the Final Smash? How does the Zelda-Alone and Zelda-Shiek ones work (I.e Can Sheik alone work fine or not yet? Are the others okay? Also, do I need to redo everything the files specific to the Unstable download?
