61  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: Need help with RiiFS server on: November 26, 2013, 02:59:33 PM
In a command prompt, "riifs.exe "root folder location" (port number)".
Example:
Code:
riifs.exe "C:\wiifiles" 41000

The "root" folder on your computer in this example would be C:\wiifiles, and the port being used is 41000.

I have an external server that I host BCM on, so that saves the trouble of having to leave my computer on. If you wanna try hosting from your own computer, I'd use a port other than 1137. Use a random number above 30000 or something. In your router configuration settings, look for something about port forwarding. You'll have to forward TCP and UDP connections on that specific port you chose from your router to your specific computer. After updating the settings, you'll need an XML with connection info to your public IP address, or DDNS name.

Code:
<wiidisc version="1">
<!-- Mario Kart Wii -->
<id game="RMC"/>
<network protocol="riifs" address="brawlcustommusic.com" port="40000"/>
</wiidisc>

That's what I'm using on BCM right now, but the address can be your public IP.

Are there any chances of BrawlCmd being used? I'll learn C# to try and help out, but I'd mainly like to be able to do (de)compression of some of the files through CLI in the future.

Holy crap. I noticed you can download a MSBIN to replace the music names. Niiiice.

I'm working on replacing the song titles through the Riifs server as well. I just need to find a command line tool to do Brawlbox's lz77 compression...or just learn how to do it myself.
65  Help & Tutorials / Help / Compress pac file (must be command line tool) on: November 24, 2013, 11:13:02 PM
Are there any command line tools available that can use the same lz77 compression algorithm as Brawlbox? I'd prefer it to be Linux compatible, but I could try to make things work if it's Windows only.

Added support for a few more games. You can build your own templates to use with the Riifs server. Let me know if you need any further help, and if you'd like support for a game on the editable games list.

Hello. I've updated Brawl Custom Music to be a Riifs server for Brawl, and some other Wii games. Just a warning, the song loading make take a few seconds since it's all through the internet. Also, note that right now you will only be able to replace music, nothing else.

If you already have Riivolution installed on your Wii, or on your SD card for the HBC, you can replace your current Brawl XML with the one on BCM. (Keep your old XML somewhere safe)

Riivolution Templates and Song Replacement Lists

My plan is to randomize a music pack every day based on music suggestions for each stage.

I will upgrade my servers depending on the need. Warning, the server may crash today while I'm out if it gets overloaded. I'll have a status image up later to show whether the Riifs server is up or not. Also, if there are any games on this list of BRSTM games that you'd like supported, get in touch with me since I'll need help to determine file names, identifying songs, etc.

Currently supported games:
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Mario Kart Wii
Mario Power Tennis (Wii)
Pokemon Battle Revolution
Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World

Next games planned for support:
Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
Kirby's Return to Dreamland

You are able to create your own song templates on the site, and they will be available for anyone connecting to the Riifs server instantly. (Must restart Wii for changes to appear)
For building your own song templates on BCM, you can add a song to your lists from the individual song pages. You must also be logged in on the site. For Brawl songs, you will need to click the "Add to Brawl List" button on each song page you'd like to add to your template. For everything else, there will be a dropdown menu above the download button. After you've specified your song, an "Add to template" button will appear.

Bumping this up for one last look before I decide to close it. If you have the time and resources to help out with this, get in touch with me ASAP. It could help with your custom stages and stuff.

I won't have time to record anything pretty soon since school starts next week, but I'm posting here to see if anyone would be interested in helping out with a project to make "in-game" music previews.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTEjwkBPGVo" target="_blank" class="aeva_link bbc_link new_win">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTEjwkBPGVo</a>

I pretty much take music uploaded to Brawl Custom Music, and insert it into a gameplay video that has music disabled. I'm doing a standard of 5 minute timed matches, and the song will play and fade out in sync with the video. I've also started something like that for victory themes.

There are some preview pages on BCM with gameplay videos, and you can play any suggested song on the page to see how it sounds on that stage. (Battle Music Suggestions)

I'd like to know if anyone would be interested in getting involved with recording their own gameplay videos for use with this. I'll also accept videos of custom stages, and add sections for that to BCM. I can upload videos for you guys to use in your BrawlVault music previews if requested. Don't worry about it if someone already recorded something for a certain stage. The more previews we have, the better. It gets a little boring using the same fights for each song preview.

 Either reply to this thread, PM me, email me or whatever if you're interested. Thanks for taking a look at this.

Request: make a bunch of those grayed out values editable.

one example would be the looping point in brstms...

Why would you wanna edit those? The only thing you'd really be able to do is shift both the start and end backwards by 14336. Not worth it unless the loop points are REALLY late, and you wanna move them back to reduce file size.

Here's an RSEQ to MIDI converter that works pretty well. I included a Windows build and the source code (C++). I wish I could thank the guy that wrote it.

You can download songs on the site with a specific filename for Brawl now via a dropdown box. It'll need an update later to sort better by stage/menu, but I'll be adding options to download them to place in other games that use BRSTM. (MKWii, Mario Power Tennis, DBZ: BT, etc.)

I still need to improve it, but there's a button on each song page now to add it to your list. You can select multiple slots to use for the same song if you want.

Working on something with the site to have our own music lists up. The download links will automatically be named to match the song ID in-game. So the song I've listed for X04 in my list will be downloaded as "X04.brstm."
