61  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / General Hacking Discussion / Re: [Official] Project M discussion: 3.5 coming soon! on: November 12, 2014, 07:28:29 PM
...yeah I'm going to have to poke the dog here: What's the deal with all of this [censored]?

When it comes to death-threats and the like, the best approach is to ignore them. Bringing attention to things like that just encourages people to continue to do those sorta things because they know they'll get a rise out of it.

So basically, the old 'are they picking on you? ignore them lol' excuse applied to death threats. Which, last I checked, aren't exactly something to be shrugged off nonchalantly. Forgive me for sounding like Miacis here, but I haven't seen anyone worth their shekels from P:M actually address the whole 'Apex denies P:M, fans send death threats' thing except for SOJ. Doesn't matter if you like the Total Conversion or not, it's troubling.

Also the PMDT don't really have an obligation to publicly address things of that nature when it isn't really related to them. They can't help it if some troll, person in a bad state of mind, or drunkard decides to do something stupid.

Yes, they don't have an obligation... but consider that, even if that person is a troublemaker, it's trying to stain P:M's name by proxy. When you have a bunch of loonies running around outright threatening people while calling themselves P:M fans, the higher-ups should go out of their way to say "Yeah, these guys? They're not us. We don't like their flailing, it's uncool and cramping our style, bros." in the most powerful media they have - the blog. It might not LOOK like much, but it's enough to distance Group A from Group B, and it's not like P:M is foreign to that concept. I mean, if you look at christians and the KKK, muslims and Al Qaeda, it's not too farfetched. this thread confirmed religion thread 2.0

The community in general has already taken action by showing their support towards Alex Strife via letters, messages, etc. I'm sure the PMDT has done something similar privately. I wouldn't expect or ask for much else tbh.

Saying "I'm sorry about <x>" in private isn't as effective as in public, though. Not to mention that, from what I've seen, the community was more focused on trying to one-up Apex and disregarding the health, physical or mental, of the main guy Alex. I mean, there's an issue if those are the priorities and no one is saying anything against it. Or they're okay with it, which is an even bigger issue.

I mean, if [censored] like this keeps happening - retarded-ass drama because of a TC, nerdraging over a fake video of a 10-year-old girl, among other oh so intelligent instances - what do you think is going to happen? Ninty's decided to be benevolent and officially* support the more competitive side of Smash. If they see how much people are [censored]ting themselves over every little triggering thing, they'll likely pull the plug before Smash 4's lifespan is even over. Worst case scenario, they yank a C&D out their pockets and shut the sonofa[censored] down for good. Can't we just love the SMASH series in its entirety instead of fragment into each game (and TC) in the series and throw flaming bags of [censored] at anyone not in our team just for thinking differently?

*as in, official games and not a TC

Lurking this site for years has led me to believe that you aren't really a nice person to talk to Sad Rhetoric like this speaks for itself.

[censored] Miacis, how did you manage to steal my thunder? :c

Overall, everyone has retards in their community, there's no escaping that. Just have to power through and teach them to do and not do things, not just shun them and hope things will automagically get better. Just... all of this from a combination of a fake vid, the Apex thing and subsequent reactions, and the convenient/poor-timed (depending on who you ask) scheduled release of 3.5 led to a [censored]storm so immense even Link can't salvage. Honestly, when did Smash Bros. become such a headache that people can only fight OUTSIDE the game?

Now both Miacis and Nanobuds kiss and make up. You can both lord it up with lightsaber battles over who has the higher ground, but leave the dark and edgy behaviour at the thread's entrance and get along, for [censored]'s sake.

And if you're not going to, then at least give us a heads up if you're ever gonna go GOLD. Y'know, so we can have all the shiny trinkets you oh so diligently kept secret in a vault of your own.

Unless you're afraid that the codes might trigger a nuclear holocaust. :V

Oh my, a PAL release.

Now there's something unexpected.
63  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / General Hacking Discussion / Re: Gecko vs. Riivolution on: October 22, 2014, 12:35:08 PM
There's a Help section, y'know.
64  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Character Vertexes and Textures / Re: mewtwo creation feedback for future and hopfully present fans.....like it?!? on: October 16, 2014, 10:55:57 AM
You want a REAL tip?

Get someone to move this thread to this section of the board.

Also, there's a Helpdesk for any questions you might have in regards to hacking.

No, that's just my opinion, which I'm entitled to. Just like what you said is your opinion. Smiley

Props for dismissing someone with infinitely more expertise than you with the 'opinion' card. I'm sure you have SO much more knowledge than him.

General Hacking Discussion fits the title and what not.

No, it doesn't. It really, really doesn't.
65  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / General Hacking Discussion / Re: [Official] Project M discussion: Turbo Mode Contest and Alt Costume Tuesdays! on: October 16, 2014, 06:58:02 AM

That was an... underwhelming joke.

Hi! I was wondering if the Official Project M Team can work on this moveset. [snip]

You're a... you're a special kind of stupid, aren't you?

rosalina wasn't in melee, u goof

HAH

Well I have Project M Unbound so..................

Stop using a [censored]ty compilation pack.

Well at least the Retro Suit looks good. Never really figured why Ninty went with ball-shoulders, but eh.
66  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Programming / Re: Pay me to program for you. Would this work? on: October 01, 2014, 08:09:15 AM
I consider this comment pretty edgy

Post Merge: September 20, 2014, 12:13:11 PM
but now, before a drama or an argument starts, I want to leave clear Im not against this, I have actually planned the same for myself in the future, but I think a hobby like this shouldnt be seen as a stressing job

...yeah there's a difference between programming a tool to help in Brawl hacking and selling your brawl hacks.

Thank for the clarification then. I support this idea then since it's legal, but I wuld never bring myself to pay for this stuff. But hey, maybe others would

...what was the point of bringing up the legality if you're not going to dump money into it? What kind of ass-backwards logic is that?

well, I won't say it's a bad idea, but letting it happen will make me lose faith in the project...

I have no faith in a project when the developer is doing things for money rather than for the benefit of others.

if the result is still for the benefit, then great, but due to the money aspect, brbx will never look good to me if done like that.

Yeah, man, "selling out" is so evil and stuff. Fight the power, all that.

Quote

if (as a retort) you want me to pick it up, don't bother:
1: I now hate C# with a passsion and will only learn it for reading code (not writing it)
2: I'm already working on something far more advanced and have many more communities (not just hacking communities) supporting the idea

Man, your horse must be smoking weed 'cause it's high as [censored].

So why don't you make your own thread instead of advertising in others like it's the second coming of hacking-Jesus?

Quote
to add a bit of personal info to that, and it's something that's always been known...
I hate money, and will always do what I can for free.
(I would rather make an attempt to get rid of money than try to actually make it)

Maaaaan, adulthood is going to SUCK for you.

Okay, trashytalk notwithstanding, if it's at all possible to have animated textures on a character, I would engage in shilling.
67  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: WIP Workshop on: September 30, 2014, 12:33:05 PM
I'm sorry, what? What is so criminal about the possibility of a fan model being better than the official? It can be done with enough work put it into it. For example: Project M's Ocarina of Time Link, that is the best model of OoT Link I've ever seen, even better than the 3ds and Melee models. Are they "Mole Convention 2014" for accomplishing such a task? Are you that [censored]ing dense?

...you're comparing a custom model to the original N64 version. What.

Okay, just for a minute, let's hop off Wonderland and fall ass-down onto the real world: Typical P:M shilling notwithstanding, any custom model can look better when the original is aesthetically lacking. You can't have a metric [censored]ton of detail working with limited hardware (in comparison to the hardware of today). For all intents and purposes, P:M Link has little to no differences when you compare him to 3DS Link. So what makes P:M Link better other than the fact it has the P:M sticker on it?

That's still no excuse for rudeness, and just because he has a low tolerance for those kinds of people doe not give him the right to make snide remarks like he did. There's a time and a place for everything, and LC needs to learn where those comment belong, and when to keep his mouth shut.

This is a place for constructive criticism, not for backhanded insults.

Well it's not a place for blind praise either, and yet that was definitely the case a few pages back. With all due respect, Majora, you know I'm not the type to pull punches when it comes to criticism, constructive or otherwise.

The thing about it is... If you have color in your name, you are in control of the world on this site. Doesn't matter if you're a 10 year old kid or a 40 year old adult, if you have color in your name, the power is yours Im srs here

There's a "check your priviledge" joke in there somewhere.
68  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: WIP Workshop on: September 26, 2014, 10:16:29 AM
OH NO HOW DARE SOMEONE ATTEMPT TO MAKE A BETTER MODEL THAN THE OFFICIAL ONE

'better'

Wasn't aware the WIP Workshop was the new place for Mole Convention 2014.

you would have your pants wet if it was made by beyond tho

It wouldn't make a damn difference if Beyond made the same model as Russ. It's still subpar.
69  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: WIP Workshop on: September 25, 2014, 03:47:11 PM
I guess it could also fit over Popo and Nana.

Post Merge: September 25, 2014, 02:54:16 PM
Your Yvetal? looks better imo.

I don't know what brand of glasses you're wearing, but you'd better upgrade. You're calling a poor model BETTER than the -official- X/Y model.
70  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / General Hacking Discussion / Re: Smash U/3DS on: September 21, 2014, 05:43:06 PM
the first world problems you're talking about is having a single parent raising 5 members of our family by herself.

And you still didn't get a job to help her because...

Quote
everyone needs to stop getting so butt hurt by a god damn website.

You should lead by example...

Quote
next time you dare to insult my family, I'm gonna roast your ass.

Leave the fire-handling to someone that can't get burned that easily, kid.

The only sentiment I share with you is that this thread has run its course and should be eradicated.

Speaking as a person that is a fan to all systems

I don't believe you, but go on.

Quote
Brawl Vault is a very popular site

Oh goodie, yet ANOTHER one of those freaks that can't get the name right.

Quote
even if we did manage to create something that stole sales from Smash 4, it would still always get sales.

Highly [censored]ing unlikely to happen, on the fact that there's nothing in the world that can 'steal' sales from a game. Not even mods.

Quote
Look at my other responses in the giant rant like comment I posted, we have amazing things, but when have you ever seen something utilized to it's fullest extent?

Oh I can think of some VERY good examples posted on the blog.

Quote
All we do is get packs that don't make any sense from the clone engine, that's just one example.

That's literally the ONLY kind of examples you bother looking for! If you took some ACTUAL time and effort to do something called 'research', you'd find there's a metric [censored]ton of things out  there that are worthwhile.

Quote
All I'm saying is that if the talented people on this site somehow came together, we can make great things happen, especially from the tools we have at hand.

The last time a group of people took an initiative, they formed a Total Conversion-esque mod at the cost of warping their beliefs and twisting ties between us and them, creating a rift between the two and needless bad blood. Take it as you will.

I will buy the DS version, but I can't get the console version since

FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS AHOY, not that anyone cares about it.

As someone not talking out of their ass, I approve of this idea.
73  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / General Hacking Discussion / Re: [Official] Project M discussion: Turbo Mode Contest and Alt Costume Tuesdays! on: September 16, 2014, 04:00:39 PM
Ice Climbers confirmed furries, more at the 11 o' clock news.
74  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / General Hacking Discussion / Re: Official Sm4sh Costumes... the hacking can't come soon enough on: September 11, 2014, 09:18:06 AM
Yeah, this really needed a thread of its own.
75  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / General Hacking Discussion / Re: Project M+ on: September 01, 2014, 05:36:01 AM
I don't log in to these forums anymore but I decided to make an exception here just so I could thank you for making this pack.  I wouldn't have bothered but I saw some negative comments that I don't feel were justified and I wanted to counterbalance them.

Because how dare someone say something bad? No, we must silence the heathens at once.

Quote
I'm personally really grateful that someone is putting this pack together and I've been watching it intently for updates since it came out.  If this project reaches the point that the added characters has been physically tweaked to fit with PM's physics and they have sound FX, I'll definitely be downloading this, turning it into an WBFS, and giving it a permanent place on my Wii.

One shall see how much quality this pack will have. Quick hint though, don't hold your breath.

Quote
For the record, as much as I dislike LC-DDM's tone, I do typically share his perspective on compilation packs.  That said, I feel this project is different because it's not a compilation of what stages/characters "you think look cool" or "you think should have been in the game" or anything like that.  As I understand it, this pack aims to only adds what was previously removed from the franchise and I think that's a really natural idea.  You also seem to be going the extra mile to make sure everything blends together well and is of high quality.

It still feels a bit tacked on, though, to be honest. I still don't trust this pack to be any good as the others. Time will tell, I suppose, but it is pretty much still just a "let's take things from other people and bunch it up into a pack". I want to see what they can do to change this.

Stop complaining about something that doesn't effect you. It makes you look petty and silly.

You only popped up in here trying to whiteknight this thread because you do the same damn thing.

Quote
Someone on a Brawl mod site wants to enhance their Brawl mod with more Brawl mods; but nope, they shouldn't be able to try and improve their own Smash experience because you don't like it.

No, someone on a *Brawl hacking site* wants to change a **Total Conversion** to stray away from its original intent.

If they were to improve their own Smash experience they'd keep it to themselves. Like you said, it's -their own- experience.

* It's not relegated to just mods, though I can understand why you'd make this mistake... you still have noobs thinking the site is Brawl Vault and not KC-MM. Even on the damn blogpage.
** There's a great amount of people that don't know what this is, because they were only introduced to mods here. I recommend looking for it on UD.

Quote
He's "smearing P:M's name" by changing it?

I'm pretty sure the way P:M made things, they were pretty much against unofficial builds, which technically, is what this is. So yes.

Quote
...So P:M must be "smearing Sakurai's name" for changing Brawl, correct?

P:M's early beginnings were to 'restore' Falco to his Melee glory, and it gradually snowballed from that into what you see today. It may be fanning out into other games, but the heavy Melee influence is still there to a degree.

Quote
...Better yet, aren't we all "smearing Brawl's name" by hacking it?

I'm pretty sure modding in general isn't 'smearing' anything. Well, until you replace everything with [censored]s. Fishing back the TC talk though, some of the best games out there started out as mods. It all depends on the quality of the mod itself, in the end.

Quote
...Or even better yet, isn't Sakurai "smearing Melee/64's name" by updating it?

Now you're just being an idiot. But to be fair, there are still Melee addicts out there that think THAT is the truth, so I'll let it slide.

Quote
I'm sorry that you're offended by "unofficial" hack packs. I'm sorry that you're unable to grasp the concept that, when someone else's hack is borrowed and properly credited, it's public domain that anyone can use for any hack, pack, or project they like. What kind of attitude is that, on Brawl Vault of all places?

Just because it's borrowed and properly credit doesn't suddenly make it okay to have a catch-all compilation pack whose mods someone can already get seperately.

Quote
You're being a hypocrite. You complain that these people are "[censored]ting all over P:M's" work, only to [censored] on the hard work they've done to try and make P:M better.

You don't know what 'hypocrite' means, do you? IF I had a compilation pack of my own, you'd be right, but you're not.

Also, yeah, you're totally right. Downloading other people's hacks into a pack is SUCH hard work. P:M's good enough as it is, it doesn't NEED to be 'better'.

At least the others can form a coherent response. You barely have enough brainpower to post a [censored]ty GIF.
