1  Help & Tutorials / Programming Tutorials / Re: Changing the Franchise Icon of Characters on: March 19, 2016, 07:06:41 PM
Hey, I don't mean to bump this extremely old thread, but I have a question regarding series logos that I feel is worthy to be added to this thread.

Project M gave Bowser one, so does that put him as "14 - Bowser" on this list? More importantly, if one would go about adding another series logo, would they just go beyond that number and add it as "15 - (new series)" and so forth? I think that makes sense to me.

They sound great all the same Smiley SotN was truly the best in music, no other game could match it afterwards. But all the games before it were sure as hell just as flawless, and the SotN was the pinnacle of it all.

And if you're working on Richter, you should maybe look into Maria as she appeared in the Saturn version, if not Rondo of Blood. She'd be an interesting support character to aid Richter as another fighter, rather than an assist, mostly because she is playable in both her kid and adult forms in two Castlevania games that are coincidentally linked (only Japanese versions of both games allow her to be played, however) or if you were skilled enough, use her kid version (Rondo of Blood) as the main character, but make her final smash transform her into her adult version (Symphony of the Night) that has magic-based moves and styles as she did in the Saturn version of SotN. It'd easily be the most impressive Brawl hack if that could be accomplished, but making another moveset would be complicated so if all else fails there you'd have to just make all her move animations similar to her non-transformed self, but replace the animals with magic.

Though it seems like you're nearly finished with the hack you're working on, and didn't mention Maria in itso perhaps she could just be another project since I made her sound really complicated. Either way, it'd be sick.
3  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Music & SFX / Toon Link, silent on: October 10, 2014, 03:27:31 AM
Can anyone give me a 42.sawnd that has no Toon Link voices, only weapon noises? Like, similar to him simply being in metal form. I got some Castle Crasher models over him and his voice sounds weird on them, but if they were silent then that would make them much more fitting. All help is appreciated! I am not good with this stuff at all.
4  Help & Tutorials / Help / Stage Selection fails to Load on: October 06, 2014, 01:52:48 PM
So I am trying to replace Flat Zone 2 with Outer Wall from Cave Story, but the mod I'm using has two pages worth of stages. When replacing any stage on Page 1 of the selection menu, it goes over just fine and no problems happen.

However, Flat Zone 2 is on Page 2 of the selection, and I cannot figure out why but whenever I try to replace it in a similar fashion to the other stages, it freezes the stage selection screen (after I press start at character selection) and so I do not know why it does this. Is there a more complicated method for replacing stages on the second page of the stage selection screen? I know it's not the stage itself, because I have tried this with other stages on Page 2 and it does the same thing, well again on Page 1 any time I replace a stage it has no problem loading it's icons, or the stage itself. But here I can't even get to the STAGE MENU before it freezes, it's weird.

Am I doing something wrong with the stage name, (STGGW.pac is the Flat Zone 2 stage, right?) or is it because it is on Page 2? I am aware it isn't anything else causing this freeze, because as soon as I remove STGGW.pac from the pf/stages/melee folder, it appears to load fine again without fault. Here is the stage at hand (Outer Wall.)

It is the Outer Wall stage. The dude informed me that this stage would work best over Flat Zone 2, so I put it over it as the reason. To clarify, it doesn't freeze when I select the stage, or go to Page 2 of the menu, but it freezes right after I press "Ready to Fight" (or start) on the character selection screen and makes a really obnoxious "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" sound. Is the stage broken, or do I have to port it over to Page 1 instead? Also, a list of stage names would help my situation too so I don't use the wrong stage name, should this occur again and if that is the problem. If it is something else, then I really need to know what it is.

I personally would prefer any stage that featured these two songs:

I am enjoying this pack a lot, it has increased my experience with Project M by a massive degree. However, there are some bugs i've noticed while playing i highly recommend you to fix.

- L Cancelling doesn't work with Mewtwo and Roy.
- Pichu still has Pikachu's voice

If you fix these, this pack will be perfection!

Actually, there are more problems I've found in it. Another main problem is that the team colors are mixed up for most characters, I first noticed on Wario and Dr. Mario that their actual colors don't even correspond to the teams.

Great, thanks! Oh, and upon porting Waluigi over to Diddy, the main problem was again the sounds for Waluigi being absent (though this time, they're actually included and it is a .sawnd file not a .rel file I was thinking of, makes sense) because Idk how to replace them over Diddy's Alongside that, I have a problem with porting Isaac over Pit as well, cause he never loads. Well, I made an article about it since it strayed away from the "Custom Stage" problem I had here (http://forums.kc-mm.com/index.php?topic=71315.0) so, if you know anything about this too that'd be great. I also ask cause it's been up for a day and nobody has replied yet.

I successfully ported Waluigi over Diddy Kong so it's all good now! And I shouldn't have to worry about clone characters yet, simply because whenever I add a new character there are lots of normal Brawl characters I dislike as it is, so I can simply just ask for help whenever I need to port a new character over another, so I get the right files to, say replace Pit with Geno but I wanted Dedede to be replaced I can just ask here. Idk who is the main person to ask though and I don't want to always be posting new threads whenever I need a character port, so yeah if either there was an easier way to do that or someone to PM that'd help a lot.

Ohh, I see. Well, I am not too good at programming, but if you knew of another way I could place Waluigi over King Dedede instead of Pit I'd appreciate that a lot because I need Pit's slot open for Isaac and so I don't wanna choose who goes over Pit.

And thank you for answering my questions politely, I have had some people (not on this forum) normally answer rather angrily and it made me feel bad Sad so I appreciate your kindness.

EDIT: Oh, I went to the Online Converter and it appears I do not see an option to add a custom stage base, I just get a selection of alternatives I can use from Melee to port over Brawl stages. How do I put in custom stages?

EDIT 2: Nevermind, the stage said it was based off of the Brawl Final Destination, so I used that .rel to port over the Pokémon Stadium 2 it's all good now.
10  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / General Hacking Discussion / Re: Custom Stage Freezes Upon Loading on: September 27, 2014, 02:31:38 PM
Well it loaded the textures just fine, like I said, just couldn't load the stage itself. I assume it's the "Online .rel Converter" I should be after then, though.

Oh, and well we're on topic for .rel files, I got a Waluigi over Pit ("http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=23028&Moderated=All") mod but I never heard any Waluigi sounds, or anything like that. However, the same person redid him to fit over King Dedede ("http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?ByUserID=3350", third one on the list; "http://www.mediafire.com/download/kqvjatjmq7g44mh/Dedede-1.rar" is the direct link) and that came with a .rel file, I assume that's a sound file? Well, anyway I tried this version but he never loaded. The models looked like there were much less of them than there were on the original Pit conversion, so Idk if it's significantly different from it or not so I just renamed the modified Dedede .rel file to Pit in hopes it would load the Pit version with sounds, but that didn't do anything and just froze again. So I went back to the plain Pit version, with no .rel of it's own, and still no sounds. How can I put him over the Dedede slot, or give the Pit version sounds?
11  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / General Hacking Discussion / Custom Stage Freezes Upon Loading on: September 27, 2014, 02:21:33 AM
So I tried to replace a normal stage with a custom stage I got, this one:

Here is the step-by-step on what I did:

1) Deleted "STGSTADIUM.pac" (from pf\stage\melee)
2) Put the custom stage in and renamed it to the previously deleted "STGSTADIUM.pac"
3) There were no ".brstm" music files from "Pokémon Stadium 2" that I needed to replace, so I just added in my custom music, looked up what I should name the songs then named them from H01-H05, each song being a custom song (from pf\sound\strm)
4) Put custom textures in "STGSTADIUM.pac" via "BrawlStageManager" (for the way it'd appear in stage selection)

I think I did everything right, but still the stage freezes (new textures on stage selection show up fine, though) so I have been pondering what I could have done wrong for a while now, I didn't add a stage or anything I renamed my custom stage so it'd be in the same spot as Pokémon Stadium 2 previously was, and it was a legit stage file so that should've been loaded fine. Idk if the custom music would have loaded or not, since all I did was put it in the sound folder, or if the music itself crashed the game. Either way, all help is appreciated.

So this is basically Project M but with more characters and stages? And also, how could I add character slots, or is that hard work to do? And stages too, maybe? I've seen some good stages, but don't want to do the replace method cause then I'll lose track of which stages are the ones I replaced, and so on.
