Check the FAQ --- the manual guide explains it pretty well (and then my somewhere in there is my video of mipmapping which covers how to do so as well)
I doubt it's really gonna happen. I'm not sure if an alternative to NTcompress / Texconv (required for ASH to run) have been made yet (although I believe spunit was working on incorporating those features into SSBBarc).
And... Windows may have its issues... but here is one truth you have to face. If you are too proud to install an "inferior operating system", you'll miss out on the many things that are windows only [not to mention, suffer a lot of the crap win->mac ports]. (*cough* Pirated parallels to get stuff running on my mom's iMac *cough*)
1) Extract the modified images from the pac, place them in new files, make them CUPASH comaptible (magenta BG / index at 72) --- for every single already modified image.
or
2) Extract the MenSelchr brres files manually (via SSBExtract or SSBBarc) from each and every new common5 you make.
Although... you could also get a copy of the newfiles folder from the person who made your pac.
Those should be automatically generated when you run step2. One for each modified character.
newfiles\menu\common\char_bust_tex
If you get a working modified common5, you should automatically get all those. (The same files are used for the CSP as the victory portraits --- so when step2 is run, those brres files are created first (and used as VPs), then copied/inserted into the common5 afterwards)
We are talking about the same thing... the images after battle with the 1-4 ranking... right?
Those are exactly the same thing as the CSP image. If you get one working, the other should work. You are copying both folders over, right? (Ignoring info --- since that's the in battle portraits)
Nah, but I've run into quite a few mac users now that just are plain out of luck lately.
Although I'm not a fan of macs. (I've had to get quite used to them in order to trouble shoot friend / family issues --- eventually giving up in some cases and setting up parallels on my mom's comp in order for her to use programs required for her job)
Not sure of this... maybe in addition to the model / texture files... they also contain the data which defines what happens when Kirby attempts to suck them up?
