Yeah I made the very first resident evil 4 hacks, through injection.. then got a friend to make a full import tool. then I did a little hacking there until these immature spanish kids over took the forum. since that the RE4 forum was handed off to some highschooler, and rehosted somewhere.. where they basically do more talking then modding now... :\

but I did like RE modding, hence how I had access to the models. I'm sort of a 3d model hobbyist..

I've updated my opening post, with some vert hack ideas that I strongly feel have a chance of being possible.

please lend me your thoughts on my ideas, or any new character hack ideas...

also I updated my verthack topic with my maxscript, and a very brief how to, on my current method.

I've done hacks for consoles before, but mostly texture work. takes hours to get a perfect skin.. anyway carried over to gmod after the xbox1 scene died.

I'm no pro, but I have tons of experience with 3dsmax. can do everything except animation. though I was involved with some short animation clips that became popular on game trailers. but wasn't actually doing any of the animation work, the guy monty had access to a mocap lab...

anywho!

snake's Body fitted to kruasers model, by method of retopo projection.
body looks entirely different, the projection makes the texture skinning just as good as the original model itself!

samus doesn't have q good frame works for tifa's hair. plus with zelda, you could make use of the skirt in some way.

however if something broke, don't fix it.

but I feel an equally grand skin / vert hack could be made over zelda..

also whats the progress on tidus.. sounds like alot of work. ilk doesnt look anything close to tidus, so he's gonna need alot of work.

somewhere there is a post, explains the file names.. like mario00 = default colour, mario01 = green colour.. etc..

also polyglitches are probably caused from a bad vertex hack, or a mdl0 swap glitch. if so then there are no fixes.. :\ alot of false advertising lol alot of mods actually have quite a few glitches that are hidden in their screenshots

use an app like mudbox, or zbrush .. even blender? to paint directly on the model.

you can draw out the rough work, or even paint on other textures.

remember google image is a modders greatest friends.

actually I made 2 different versions of video tutorials in preparation for my first post here. unfortunately there is a problem with my process. that I sadly cannot solve. Sad due to the matrices effecting the positioning of the vertices... which would require me to reverse more of the format.

that is why there is no tutorial available at the moment. because I'd rather post somthing solid, then something mickey mouse. however anyone with decent knowledge of 3dsmax could repeat what I've done with the above supplied info

if I can perfect the process, I'll post the videos and my app. cause i did have to write my own program for this to work. but its a maxscript so it'll work natively right in 3dsmax and should work across all versions of max.

obviously 4days ago nobody thought this was even worth replying to. so slightly annoyed about the reception around here. but those who wish to learn are welcome to contact me.
keep in mind if your no good in 3dsmax theres no point in me even explaining anything

the raw formats pretty easy, I've never wrote in python, but it should be too hard. someone could just write a plugin for blender, and there would be no need to donkeybox all together

refresh all your files.

replace the model.mdl0 with a new one.
run your DDV.3ds edit through animator. the problem i caused by a faulty 3ds import.
