besides, it's not completely unusable. just a fair amount of odd stretching that continually reminds me that i'm still not as far as i'd want to be with it.
as for a release/beta tester type thing, i was kind of thinking of doing something like a V.5 thread only release, then once the balancing is done and i have all the animations i want to make finished, then do a Vault full release. although if i were to have a few beta testers, if the feedback is good like dmick's Megaman review, i could potentially make their Villagers as a thank you/incentive for better feedback. heck, i could do the Villager thing anyways, provided a few restrictions. mainly that it's something i can get from the CF iso if it's a hat for facial stuff, or if the texture is easy enough to make, and that it wouldn't require too much hair editing, because i really don't feel like making more head models. of course, this is all once i get the last few attack animations done, so SonicBrawler can get those attacks all synced up.
Huge fan of the b-air. f-air looks pretty nice too. So what exactly is that 3rd attack again? His air side-B? lol
why thank you. i thought it'd be cool since it's a bit of a different use of a Net. and yes, the 3rd one is the Side B. currently i'm putting it on both the Side B and Aerial Side B.
once you finish a few more animations and the model of my ac villager, i will start psaing those
i shall, once i get the last few done. i believe i only have 6 more attack animations to make, including the Side B that i started yesterday.
plus, i almost have all the extra models in that i wanted to use, and most of the more important animations are done. we're getting so close to an initial release, i can almost taste it... boy, this yellow popsicle sure hits the spot! ha, Spongebob reference. ha. so clever.
so i was in more of a mood to make animations and stuff rather than do homework. probably not the best thing to do, but meh. i'd say i got a fair amount done. 2 full animations, plus a third started.
Forward Air. basically like Peach's, but with a Watering Can. and you probably thought it couldn't be used as a weapon.
y'know, i didn't even think of actually having do anything... i'd agree that 10% is a bit much, but considering the animation is 76 frames long, about 4-5% would probably do good, roughly equivalent to a regular food item. that's just my thought on that though.
so yeah, got another animation done. an attack this time, the Side Tilt. i need to get some more of them done... pretend that the Axe isn't there for the first and last few frames. i also slowed the gif down so you could actually see it better.
Edit:
woo, another attack done. this time with the Net! also it's the Side Smash. also also pretend it's not there for the first and last few frames.
I've got to wonder what that up-taunt means, as someone who hasn't played Animal Crossing but finds Villager really interesting.
right, should have mentioned that. i probably shouldn't assume that everyone has played an AC game before. basically, he gets a fruit from his inventory and eats it. gotta keep that strength up somehow.
yeah... updates... well, like i mentioned earlier, my semester started back up. 15 credits of upper division CS classes gave me a ton of homework all at once, basically to the point where i didn't even have time to breathe, let alone even think of doing anything besides homework. short version, i ended up dropping a class that was giving me the most work that i couldn't get done, and now i actually have some free time.
so for updates, this is what i've got.
first off, i actually fixed the Down taunt so now it looks like it should.
i also finished the animation. the pic a few weeks ago was just the pose i was aiming for. since a gif wouldn't show the flowers as well, i'll explain it a little. he pulls out the can, waters the ground, flowers spring up, then he pockets the flowers and the can. i actually really like how it turned out.
as for something new, the Up taunt. the Orange isn't quite rotated properly, and something is a little weird with the transparency, but it's mostly there.
now now, none of those are final smashes. some are a bit odd, but hey, hard to make a cannonical moveset with someone that never fights. and i am actually planning at least one or two animations with the bed, file size permitting.
indeed, either bees or doom. i still need to make a button or something for that, so it's more than just the screen suddenly turning black.
but if there's other attack suggestions, feel free to pitch them. i still have quite a few unfilled ones that could use more than my basic tool swing ones.
oh, and i made the down taunt. pretend the Watering Can is there. and that i actually used the proper shader. and that i made the expression to go with it.
so, a quick update on my end. my semester started back up, therefore much less time for hacks. but i did find a few hours between class one day with no assignments to fix a derp on my part, the VIS0. plus, i started adding in facial emotions. i have completed more than just these, but they're a bit harder to show. also still quite a bit to go before i have them done.
Are you addding the ability to thow objects back at enemies?
honestly, no idea if it's even possible. that would be more on SonicBrawler's end, but it's probably not going to happen like it will in Smash 4.
so yeah, more recolors. got the rest of the main ones done.
the uvs are still off. so yeah.
so what i was going for was to have a Male and Female Villager for each of Pits different colors, and matching each of Pits colors. so the list of recolors is this:
Red - No. 1 Shirt (on main one), Chinese Shirt [F] Blue - Blue Tie-Dye, Cloudy Shirt[F] Green - Grass Shirt , Green Stripe Tank [F][NL] White - Dice Shirt , Icy Shirt [F] Black - Flame Shirt , Daisy Shirt [F] (the current one) Gold - Latin Uniform[CF]/Soccer Tee[NL], Cherry Shirt [F]
[F] = Female colors, [NL] = New Leaf, because the Green Stripe Tank is from New Leaf, and the Latin Uniform is called Soccer Tee in New Leaf. i have a few more i want to do, but i thought i'd show these now.
Thanks, but whenever you finished your pack, just have a link to my Victory Theme if it's not too much to ask.
And a small request; will you make Female Villager compatible over Lucas? I want to replace him with the Female Villager.
will do, and she is now over Lucas as well. i updated the Vault link again with it. and it turns out i missed even more stuff with the Lucas port than i did with the Ness rig. fixed them though, once i saw that.
so, first things first. i updated my Villager over Ness rig, and included the Female Villager in as well. maybe that'll help a little with the wait for the PSA to get done.
i have seen that, and that's more what gave the idea of just taking Kirby's for it came from. that's actually just a re-texture of a different hat in CF, so the quality isn't quite as good as Kirby's is.
you're quite welcome, glad a few people have approved.
and finally, the next bit i've been busy with, alternate colors. i've decided to give a full recolor set to both Boy and Girl Villagers, plus i'll throw in a few extra because i can. these are separate from personal Villagers that may be included, and from Brawl cosplay outfits. so here's the first few done so far.
and don't mind the slightly off uvs, i'll be fixing those. didn't realize how off they were until i started making these.
so i missed a few things i should have caught the first time around with my recent Villager, and made a Female Villager, so i thought i'd make an update. she was originally going to be just an alt costume for the Villager PSA i'm making, but i put a bit too much work into her just being an alt for a PSA. so yeah. Vault link is updated with the new Villager. oh, and there's a Lucas version i did of mine a while back as well, in case anyone cares, just never mentioned it here.
well, recolor #1 basically done. and because i did a fair amount of work on this one, i'm going to update my Villager model over Ness in the Vault with it.
