16  Help & Tutorials / Texture and Portrait Tutorials / Get Rid of that annoying "toon" texture! on: November 02, 2011, 10:59:41 AM
Are you tired of ticking that toon texture button on and off to see your character in brawlbox? This simple tutorial rids you of that task once and for all without having to remove the texture itself, causing problems in-game.

Step one: open up any model that has a "toon" texture that covers it. (The toon texture that has the all white texture over the character)
Step Two: Export that model from brawlbox as a DAE file.
Step Three: Import the dae that you just exported back into brawlbox, replacing the original mdl0 file.
Step Four: Now preview the model, note that the toon texture is still part of the texture list, but the white sheet of color that the texture makes over the character is gone!
Step Five: Close the model previewer and export the same model again (I recomend saving over a different file)
Step Six: Import this DAE into 3DS max and there you go, that white texture is gone and you can see your character/item.

Not really sure if this is a useful trick, but hell I'ma post it here anyway.

20  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / General Hacking Discussion / Getting Files into Another Game :l on: October 16, 2011, 03:02:17 PM
Is it possible to rip files from an ISO, edit said files, then re-insert them into the same game and have the game work?

I mean like what ForTheError(sorry if the names wrong) is doing with playing as Ooki in Okami

I just want to try some stuff with CON 3 Revolution Smiley

Once I get my REAL computer back at least =-=;
21  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Programming / Out 2 JPG for Nintendo 3DS? on: September 23, 2011, 10:15:44 AM
Okay, everyone here's used the brawl snapshot tool for their brawl snapshots right?

Well, for those who own Dead or Alive Dimentions
Has anyone thought of making a similar tool, that makes the images from the snapshots taken in the gallery mode in the game?

You can save the images to the SD, which is good, cause that means it could be hacked. But it sucks that nintendo/team ninja wasn't smart enough to make the game save them as ACTUAL images =_=;

so yeah...same program, just for different files...
22  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Programming / What If? on: September 22, 2011, 03:38:37 PM
What if there was a way to make wii read from an "external" hard drive when playing brawl for the RAM?

By external hard drive I mean like one of those huge 2-10 GB ones that you can plug into your computer's usb port to backup your system.

No more freezing due to filesize! AWESOME 2.0!
23  Help & Tutorials / Vertex Tutorials / How to Vertex EditWith 3DS Max 2010! on: September 19, 2011, 11:43:30 AM
Tired of waiting for a way to use 3DS Max 10 + for vertexing? Well wait no more! I have found a work-around method that has worked flawlessly so far. Before I start the tutorial, here's the checklist of what you need.

3DS Max 8
Collada Max for 3DS Max 8
3DS Max 10
Collada Max for 3DS Max 10
Blackjax's newest release of Brawlbox
AIS Converter

Note: I HAVE NOT TESTED THIS IN ANY VERSIONS OTHER THAN TEN, so if you have 11 or 12 please give it a try and let me know if it works ^+^

Step One: Perform all the pre-3DS Max steps you need for vertexing (Exporting the vertexes to the ais converter, getting the DAE file from AIS etc) as you normally would for mariokart N's method without patching.

Step Two: Open up 3DS Max 8, and import your DAE made from AIS.

Step Three: Check the "Selected only" box in mariokart's script, even though everything's selected anyway.

Step Four: Click Fix AIS import and wait for it to fix it.

Step Five: Go to File and click Save As, Save it somewhere you'll remember (I use the desktop for ease of access) and with a name you'll remember.

Step Six: Save it as a "3DS Max" Scene, NOT a DAE/Collada scene! This is MEGA important!

Step seven: Once the file is saved, close out of 3DS Max 8, and open up 3DS Max 10

Step eight: Once 3DS Max 10 is opened up completely, click file, then open and select the 3DS Max scene file made from the old .DAE file. Make sure you save the DAE file for a back up, just in case something happens.

Step Nine: Run Mariokarts vertexing script in 3DS Max 2010, and presto, now you can vertex edit the way you normally would with 3DS Max  8 Cheesy

Note: I will not tell you where to get 3DS Max 8, and as much as I hate to say it, your only option is to find a working "torrent" for it :l
24  Help & Tutorials / Help / 3DS Max Crashes Importing .Dae on: September 09, 2011, 12:37:39 PM
Yes it crashes, the 2010 version crashes every time I try to import even an unedited fitlinkxx.dae file :l

Can anyone tell me WHY it's crashing =_=;
and where to get the Colada max installer for 2010 or later, because I requested it from freeling software and they just sent me an email that said "we don't offer that product anymore"

26  Help & Tutorials / Help / Please Help =_=; on: September 07, 2011, 09:49:11 PM
I'm working on a hack for link, and I've managed to make his straps go by-bye
But guess what

When I tried to do the same to the shield and pouches, they appear as [censored]ed up or super stretched polygons! I want them GONE I may have to use the polygon deleater...
27  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Programming / Old Brawlbox... on: August 22, 2011, 02:30:28 PM
can anyone re-upload the original brawlbox to mediafire =_=;
It was deleated due to terms of service violation...
I can't use the new modset by blackjacks to vertex cause it causes some [censored]ty problem with the model.
28  Help & Tutorials / Help / Any GOOD Model Sites? on: August 12, 2011, 04:03:41 PM
Okay, roo suggested this spriters resource forum, which is pretty annoying because I can't post in certain areas unless I have "sufficiant posts" Im srs here seriously....you're REQUIRED to have a certain number of posts in order to be ALLOWED to post in certain areas? WTF....

So yeah, I need some sites (just the name of the site so nobody gets warned, IDK but better safe than warned you know :l ) that are good for finding the following.

Music And Sound Effects(From Games): I already know VG music.com
Models: Character models ripped from the game.

So yeah....any sites that people know of? O_o

Neutral Special: He will charge up and fire a beam from his chest. (Seen in the above video)

Side Special: Hyper Dash: Sonic rushes fowrward with his turbines burning (similar to fox's side B) at an increadible speed anyone hit by the turbine flames are sent flying backward and burnt.

Down Special: Hyper spin dash: Same as sonic's side B but with more damage and only goes left or right (no jumps etc)

Final Smash: Mecha summons the Master emerald and draws energy from it into his body, which will transform him into Super mecha sonic. 30  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Tales Of Symphonia Link! on: July 31, 2011, 08:42:21 PM
After years of fighting Ganondorf with the master sword and other various equipment, link has decided to take up magic. What kind of magic? The Tales Of kind of course! This moveset is one that I have planned after I finish updating Dark Super Sonic. (He's about 75% finished atm, just needs air A's, specials, and FS) I'll be trying some new stuff with graphics and articals, yippie.

A Combo: A few quick slashes, they're different than his normal slashes
Side Tilt: Demon Fang,  a basic arte he couldn't pass up.
Side Tilt B: Double Demon Fang, press A+B to launch two demon fangs Smiley
Up Tilt: A custom spell, he slashes his sword upward in an arch and releases a shockwave.
Down Tilt: The same

Air A's: The same

Up Smash: Ground Dagger, using his megaton hammer link will slam his trusty sledge from Ocarina of Time into the ground with a great force. Causing spiked pillars of stone to rize up on both sides and attack the enemies many times.
Side Smash: Raging Beast
Down Smash: Gravity Well

Up Special: The same but it only spins once and the charging animation/stance will be like in twilight princess.
Down Special: Lightning Blade
Side Special: Sword Rain Alpha, he will continue to slash away until you let go of the B button.
Neutral Special: Hurricane: A custom spell in which link raises his sword into the air in order to sumon a mighty vortex of wind that slices through enemies.
Final Smash: Ultimate Dins Fire: Link will perform the stance for his spell Dins Fire, and then unleash a huge vortex of flames that covers a good part of the screen!

Stats:
Weight: about average, a little lighter than DK
Speed: pretty decent now that he's not lugging all that extra equipment around. He'll move about as fast as mario.
Air Maneuverability: Dunno, probably closer to Lucario or Fox's
Size: about ganondorf's size
