Something tells me that you're trying to do this manually. Did you allow step 1 to do its job? You should've ended up with only 30 folders when step 1 was done with extracting Toon Link's texture parts.
For The GIMP users, select Image > Mode > Indexed... to index an image. Keep note that most indexed textures need to be indexed through Photoshop since ASH isn't exactly designed to handle textures that were indexed through The GIMP.
Just to let you know, the Pokemon Trainer's Final Smash is compatible with ASH, so you should be able to easily edit that Final Smash texture file.
Of course, before working on the Final Smash, extract the texture parts for all three of the Trainer's Pokemon, and place the folders in a separate directory. Next, extract the Final Smash texture and run The GIMP or Photoshop. Replace each texture part that the Final Smash texture contains, but do keep in mind that Ivysaur's Grass texture part requires an indexed palette.
By the way, there's no Emerald Texture version of this Final Smash.
I don't think his eyes are affected by Brawl's version... Emerald characters have always the same eyes, white pupils and the rest is black. I don't have any idea of what may have happened.
I don't exactly know myself, but that's what I got. Oddly enough, I've seen snapshots of Lucario's Emerald Textures in which you see the white pupils, but the eyes aren't colored black at all. Here's one example.
That's only true for Mr. Game & Watch; his only texture file contains all 6 of his color slots. All the other Emerald Textures replace a color slot of your choice.
You know, considering that practically every texture that I've done is just a mere recolor, I guess it's pretty obvious that I wouldn't pass the tryouts.
Yep i do use Photoshop CS4. But i didnt know how to make Kirby's fs eyes transparent. I'm not sure if Magneta was supposed to be the trick.
Kirby's Final Smash eyes are normal textures, so magenta will not work. You need to mess with the Alpha Channel in order to choose which spots are visible, while the others are transparent. I'll give you a small example of what I mean.
Note: The magenta on the bottom right image only represents that the Alpha Channel is turned on. It does NOT represent transparency for normal textures.
For future reference, you need to have Adobe Photoshop CS3 or CS4 in order to edit Kirby's Final Smash eyes properly; editing them properly with The GIMP is practically impossible. This is also the case for Pikachu, Ness, Ice Climbers, Lucas, and Jigglypuff.
1: Place all the InfFace###.brres files and common5_en.pac into the neededfiles folder.
2: Run step 1 of CUPASH. Let it do its business and then continue.
3: All new portraits that you create need to be stored in the newfiles folder. DO NOT edit any of the portraits in the templates folder.
4: Run step 2 of CUPASH. If the step is completed, you'll get three new folders in the newfiles folder. The new InfFace###.brres files are stored in the info\portrite directory. The menu\common\char_bust_tex directory contains the MenSelchrFaceB###.brres files, which are used on the match results screen. The system directory contains your new common5.pac file.
If you try to make the hair shorter, you'll end up seeing through her head. Also, the parasol could've been edited so that it's the same color as the dress. I know that it's just equipment, but you've seen the parasols change in color when you use the basic recolors.
I did say that I modified some of the textures. No offense Vyse, but I just found it strange whenever I see Pit do three midair jumps without any wings.
