I've recently been able to test out my texture modifications, so I'll now show screenshots of my work. The screenshots are in a spoiler box, considering their size.
Mario Party 9
Red Yoshi
I do need to do some final tests before considering releasing the texture modifications though, but I've managed to cover most of the files that contain the icons and portraits.
It has been over "2" months since my last texture hack. Ever since I've got my 3DS, my hacking activity went down, especially with games like Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7, and Dillon's Rolling Western.
However, I've recently bought Mario Party 9, and apparently, it appears that that game's contents can be edited too. Because of this, I'm making an attempt to do texture hacks for that game now.
Anyway, the following is a sneak peek of what I've been working on recently. It's a spoiler though...
Mario Party 9
Red Yoshi
Now, I have yet to test all of this stuff out, since I'm still working on unlocking all of Mario Party 9's game modes. I'm also attempting to write down all the files that I have to modify if I want to edit all the icons and portraits.
Still, if all goes well, I've reveal actual screenshots of my work.
For one thing, Brawl uses the LZ77 compression method. When viewing certain archives, check the compression setting; if the compression is set to "None", the archive is decompressed. You can change that compression setting at any point.
My hack count should NOT be rising whenever I edit one of my contributions. Last I've checked, I have about 435 hacks, but after making three edits, it went up to 438, and I never submitted anything new yet.
An interesting idea, though it does have its drawbacks. For example, the thread that I use to input my texture hacks (http://forums.kc-mm.com/index.php?topic=3302.0) isn't limited to just playable characters.
