1  Help & Tutorials / Help / Good music for Menu?? on: July 31, 2011, 02:38:10 AM
Not sure if this would be appropriate for this section, but I guess it can be moved if not.

Could someone recommend to me some good Menu music?

I'm getting pretty bored of Brawl's default menu themes.

I'm mainly looking for something fitting. Probably stage/character select music from other games would be preferred.

Just link me to some of them in the vault if you don't mind. Thanks.
2  Help & Tutorials / Help / unrestricted zoom camera on: July 14, 2011, 07:03:38 AM
I've been looking for the codes for the unrestricted camera while paused. I looked around for a while but can't seem to find it anywhere.

Could someone direct me to it?

I don't specifically need the replay version, if the codes are separate.
3  Help & Tutorials / Help / Size mod isn't working on: July 06, 2011, 06:11:16 PM
I had a thread up earlier in which someone told me that I can edit height by editing the "scale" of the topN bone (after renaming it TopNull).

I tried this, as you can see here:

When previewed, you can see that his proportions have been altered.

However, in-game he is back at his default proportions:

This was supposed to have been a one slot mod.  I brought up an alt costumed Cap Falcon in-game and they are the same height. Pico should have been significantly shorter now.

Did I miss a step or do something wrong?

4  Help & Tutorials / Help / Homebrew on 4.3u without game exploits..?? on: July 05, 2011, 09:40:15 PM
I see people asking questions about installing homebrew all the time so this should be fine here right?

I think I asked this about a year ago when my old wii stopped reading discs. I was digging around and found my old wii again and started thinking that a new method might have developed since then.

I had never planned to get homebrew channel, so I of course kept it fully updated.

My wii has something wrong with the lens apparently. It no longer reads discs of any type. It just gives a disc read error. It was a day1 buy, so the warranty is long gone. My parents didn't want to spend potentially $150+ to send it in for repairs. We have since gotten a new wii (with which I use the unmodded stack smash method for Brawl+), so it isn't crucial that I get the old one working. I just hate the fact that is nothing but a paperweight with Mii's right now.

I've just been waiting for a new method to install homebrew without using game exploits, because it doesn't read games.

Anyone know if it's possible to install homebrew channel without using game exploits now?
5  Help & Tutorials / Help / Bone editing to change height? on: July 05, 2011, 07:28:24 PM
I know this has been done for many hacks, but I never really understood how it was done.

I need to make Pico (captain falcon) a little big shorter without messing with his width, so changing his size via psa won't work.

I was thinking that bone editing might work, however I can't find any guides on changing one's height by messing with their bones.

Could someone please explain the process to me in some detail or direct me to a guide? Thanks.
6  Help & Tutorials / Help / Captain Falcon's ENTRY ship on: July 04, 2011, 05:18:44 PM
Is it possible to vertex/texture Captain Falcon's vehicle that appears during entry animation?
I'm working on Pico, and thought it would be necessary to make the vehicle look more like the Wild Goose. http://fzero.wikia.com/wiki/Wild_Goose

If it is possible, is the vehicle's model in his 00.pac, .pac, or fitmotion?
7  Help & Tutorials / Help / Issues vertexing G&W on: July 02, 2011, 11:44:29 PM
I vertexed his FitGamewatch00.pac into the shape I was needing, but in-game, this only affected his "grey outline". He still had the black portion of his model showing, covering up most of what I had done.

I checked and found FitGamewatchdark.pac. I assume that you would have to vertex this to edit the black portion of his model in-game. Is this correct? Or does he have separate polygons for the black portion of the model inside the Fitgamewatch00.pac?

My main question is, how would one go about editing the FitGamwatchdark.pac? Because AIS won't make a dae from it's BRRES. It stops responding. Is it not possible to edit the black portion of his model?

The character that I'm trying to make would work fine if it was just white, so if there is anyway to just remove the black portion of his model, either by making the texture transparent or using materials, I could bypass the initial question entirely.
8  Help & Tutorials / Help / How to make DK's backhair stop moving around?? on: January 21, 2011, 04:04:06 PM
I'm nearing completion on my Hihidaruma/Darmanitan DK, but I've run into a problem that I can't seem to fix.

I used two of his backhair polygons to make the red portion of his eyebrows. The first one worked fine, and during gameplay it sits in place. However the 2nd one stretches around horribly during gameplay. His backhair obviously doesn't have separate bones, so I can't figure why it's moving around like that.  Is this due to some wind-blown physics that this portion would normally experience?

Is there anyway to make this polygon stop moving around? Perhaps in the materials section?? Please be swift with your responses, as I'd really like to release Hihidaruma sometime this week. Thanks you in advance.
9  Help & Tutorials / Help / SD Card Issues on: January 16, 2011, 09:43:13 AM
This has some to do with Brawl Hacking, so I suppose it should be in this section as opposed to the Off Topic section.

-

Is anyone else having trouble keeping a working sd-card? I've read that sd-cards can be damaged by constantly reading from them as is required by Brawl Hacking. Apparently it has been damaging mine to some degree.
I've went through two sd-cards in the course of 6 months. The lock-tab broke off in the first one, forcing me to put tape on it so the wii could still read it. Eventually, it would no longer work in my wii, however it would still work with my computer at random times. I managed to get all of my information off of it before it stopped working altogether.
Now my wii/computer randomly refuse to read the 2nd sd-card. I've had to put tape on it as well because the lock-tab has become loose and it doesn't stay in place without taping it down. I'm going to have to buy a new one before it becomes unusable.

It has got me thinking that maybe I'm just buying crappily built sd-cards. Both of these cards were kept in the Wii or in the card reader. Neither of them suffered any impacts that would have knocked anything loose. It's as though they are just falling apart for no reason.

Both of these cards were 2gb Sandisk mini's with an adaptor. Which brand of sd-cards are recommended? I basically just want one that will last for more than 3-4 months. Thanks.
10  Help & Tutorials / Help / Replacing Peach's Toad error on: January 13, 2011, 04:06:10 AM
Apparently you can't vertex toad without getting errors, so I attempted to replace him with a different model and received this error message. It was accompanied by a infinite white background with a red X across it in the previewer.

The details aren't making much sense to me. Anyone know what's causing this? How did the creator of the Rosalina project manage to replace toad with a star and actually get it to work? Any way around this problem?
11  Help & Tutorials / Help / Problem vertexing Toad - SOLVED on: January 11, 2011, 06:52:48 AM
I'm trying to vertex Peach's neutralB Toad model, but when I get it to Vertexbox and make the patch, it gives me an error. But it lets me continue. When I finish there and replace it back into his model on Brawlbox, it gives me another error box.

Is it not possible to vertex Toad for some reason or is this error occuring for some other reason?
12  Help & Tutorials / Help / Horn removal through hex on: January 03, 2011, 06:20:22 PM
Could someone please remove Bowser's horns from this model for me?  http://www.mediafire.com/?4rmjgoggpp46n16 It would probably take hours to vertex them off, so hexing them off would probably easier/faster, which the reasoning behind making the topic here rather than the vertex Request section. If it isn't possible to remove them through hex, let me know so I can delete this topic.  Thanks

    14  Help & Tutorials / Help / Transparency Discrepency between BrawlBox and in-game. on: December 11, 2010, 05:46:14 AM
I'm working on a Shinbora on Metaknight, and I've ran into some problems.
I attempted to vertex his wings and cape, but after countless patchs, they refused to return to the position that I wanted. So I randomly decided to see if his wings allowed transparency. I erased a portion of them and replaced it in, then went to Brawl Box's previewer. Thankfully, they were indeed transparent. As you can see here:

So I made the textures that I needed on the wings and cape, while erasing out the portion that I wanted to be transparent. But in-game, the wing and cape show up black instead of transparent.  As you can see here:

From my experience, when BrawlBox shows something as transparent, it should be transparent in-game. In the circumstance that transparency isn't supported, BrawlBox's previewer usually shows that texture as black or white.

Is there any way past this? Or do his wings just not support transparency or vertexing? I suppose it will end up looking fine even with this problem, but it would be much better if I could resolve it.
15  Help & Tutorials / Help / Vertexed character crashing game at CSS on: December 05, 2010, 12:20:57 AM
I'm working on a Bowletta model, but I've ran into a problem. The model is finished.(I had to heavily vertex Bowsers head in the process). However, I get a freeze and annoying buzz upon selecting Bowser on the Character Select Screen. Thinking I might have accidently made a naming mistake, I emptied my folder and made new a pcs and 00pac for him. Yet I'm still getting the freeze.

Can a .pcs be oversized, like a pac or can something be vertexed SO much that it causes this sort of problem? I can post a download link so someone can look into it if needed or no solution is readily available.

    Thanks in advance.
