1  Help & Tutorials / Help / How do I make 2 polygons using the same texture 2 different colors? on: July 23, 2011, 02:31:54 AM
I wish to change the color of Pit's swords separately to make them 2 different colors so I can vertex them into 2 different weapons. I do this all the time for stages, but with a character I only have one model so I'm a bit stumped. (I'm making Strider Hiryu if that makes anyone wanna help me more)

I've seen this done before with hacks like Dimentio (Making Ness' face 2 different colors) so I know it's possible. I just don't know how to do it. :/

Can someone either teach me or link me to a guide that describes how to edit stage lighting?
I've looked around and can't find anything.

I want the main platform to look like the rest of the stage. It looks like it half the time, but the other half it will randomly look really bright like this:


The main platform is just a building from another stage.

I'm not talking about replacing the lighting, I want to manually edit it. But there's no guides telling how to. :/

Okay, I really wanted to keep this a "hush hush" project but I ran into some walls (buildings actually) and now I'm stumped at what to do.


I'm replacing Pokemon Stadium 1's background with Pokemon Stadium 2's.

Problems:
-PS2's main platform texture appears in transformations with dips in the stage as shown here:
(Very outdated pic) See how there's wood in the middle where the dip is?
The stage glitches badly everytime I try to hex it out.

-I can't move the buildings/monitor back to where they should be. (Don't know how)

-I can't resize the stage so the ledges look right. (Just don't know how)


Other than that the stage plays fine, even on wifi.


The only solution I can think of to get rid of the regular PS2's green/pokeball stage texture is to make it transparent. Which I'm not sure if anyone knows how to force polygons to use transparent textures correctly.

Help would be MUCH appreciated.

So, what do I have to do to get this to work?
And by work I mean not freeze/run in place/GIANT foot while shielding/ledge grab instant death

I've been working on a large set of Kirby Hats. The textures are done, but now I have to move the hat models to the attacks they correspond to.
Ex: Ninja Hat on Sheik Kirby / Sword Hat on Marth Kirby / Fire Hat on Charizard Kirby

Apparently swapping the model and textures isn't enough. I've accepted that swapping Snake Kirby with someone like DK Kirby will always have glitches since they replace him entire model. So I'm just focusing on the models that only have hats / weapons now.

Any help would be appreciated since figuring out how to do things like this in Smash Box gives me a headache after a while.

It's a character file so it goes in the normal place; pf/fighter/poketrainer.

All of these should be inserted using Smashscape or a similar program.
No messy TGA files. Just save the image and insert it. Easy.

Using it is pretty straight forward as most of it is just drag and drop. The directory to place the output file in is Menu2. If I ever get back to this I may add a feature that replicates the Custom CSS code using modified files and add that to the app. Be sure to read the readme as it has a code which is required if you intend on setting up certain formations in your CSS.

Also, as far as the Clone Engine or whatnot goes... Adding a new character ID to load a new set of named files is exactly what I've been working to achieve. As I said before, the possibilities look promising - there's just one slight thing with the module files that needs to be taken care of.

Sonic's eyes have never went all green and spastic on me until now.
Which I know means mip-mapping or something close to that. :psyduck:

Boy, I'm in need of help today huh?

I'm "trying" to remove Sonic's layer of pink around his body (head mainly).

Since it only affects the parts of him that are "shiny" I played around with the files that make him that way.

I removed the "shininess" of certain parts of his head. That lightened the pink a little. (Hardly noticeable though)


So I tried his Env2 file. (70% sure that's what makes him pink cause I tried all the others) Which gave me this:


It just froze there. I waited 20 mins and nothing happened. Halp?





On another note, Metal Textures. How do those work? They act like emerald textures and emerald textures even replace them in when you play Metal Brawl. Could we use those like emerald textures for the characters that don't have one?
It's just something I've been wondering for a while now.

Whenever PT or Zelda/Sheik transforms, (or in PT's case; is forced to switch) the game freezes. It only happens when a music hack is playing.
It also freezes sometimes when I No Contest.

Does it happen to anyone else? And is there any way to fix that?

I could just take out the SD card while one of them is being used, but it can't be good to remove the SD card like that.

I've done everything I alway do to these files. Indexed, palette of 90, disable transparency, all that good stuff. But no, ASH wants to be a Psyduck which is fine. I can usually fix those little Psyducks by playing around with the "do not touch" area of the image. But, not this time. Toad is maaaade of indexed textures with no "do not touch" areas. So, what have done wrong now?
