Here's the edited one. The craptastic kirby CSPs work fine. Once I add the Luigi one, the game freezes at the CSS.

I'll upload it tommorow once I get on the computer again.

...Using that method, wouldn't you be able to get the HBC on 4.2 Wiis? o_O I don't think you can, but I've never used stacksmash before.

I thought it was for people who didn't want HBC(for some reason).

Aside from the grayscale kirby pic, I was using an unedited common5.pac. But I uploaded it anyway. Here's the link.

Whenever I add the picture to the unedited one, the file size increases. However I was told that file size changes weren't a big deal with the common5.pac.
125  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: The Title Screen, is it Hackable with the SD Loader? on: October 23, 2009, 07:06:38 PM
The SD loader can load stuff from menu2 alright. You can use the SD loader to replace the file that names the music titles in the my music menu. Dantarion on smashboards made a youtube vid naming the path you need to use since appearantly the file patch code doesn't do it the way the game does.

I'd link to the video or even smashboards but my school computer currently allows me to do niether and proxys all suck.

No. Music titles dantarions replaces are in Menu2. As for as I know, some, or most things in Menu, are not SD loadable, and with Menu2 not SD loadable at all.

The vid I was talking about. Also, he said this on smashboards not too long after he posted the vid.

So you guys, you can modify all the menu2 files now.
Someone make me a Brawl+ title screen and ill make a vid on youtube.
Or at least someone get me links to the art.

You need to disable custom stages if you're using Gecko OS wothout the homebrew channel(smashstack exploit).

Otherwise, not at all.

Whoops. Did I just bump into this topic? You'll have to excuse me. I'm quite clumsy.

But now that I'm here, I see your Chun-li in HD and wonder where you have gone. Dl anytime in the future?

IF YOU REALLY WANNA TRY FRY YOUR WII, make an attack with 0 lag, a huge endless animation and have rapid fire, my wii just turned off on me when i did that, but my wii didnt fry (it took a couple of minutes before it would turn on again, though, i probably jjust shorted its circuit temporarily).

I know this was posted a while back...and that it's currently unrelated. But how long did you Wii take to turn off when you tried this?

I didn't put any pictures for transforming characters.

http://i784.photobucket.com/albums/yy122/nuclear432/luigi1_big.png

That's one of the pictures that crashes. With brawlscape or smashbox, I inserted them. I removed the magenta from that specific picture, went as far as to reindex it according to the picture I was replacing, and it still freezes.

Not sure how I got this one to work though.

The only difference is that Zero ended up being black and white and that he wasn't touching the borders. He's also indexed at a low number.

Alright. So far, I've had no success properly replacing anything. tHe game freezes right before it has to load the CSS screen.

I've been using the magic wand to delete the magenta backgrounds(getting checkered backgrounds) and I've been saving the images as pngs. I've extracted the in game CSPs, edited the images I wanted over those, and then saved. What am I doing wrong?

Edit: Possible success afterall. I managed to replace kirby's gray CSP with a picture of Zero(KDL3). Ignoring the fact that kirby's name blocks Zero's eye, the only problem I have is photoshop would only let me paste zero over kirby in grayscale.

With Zero, indexed the original pic before replacing it myself. The other pictures I tried to replace didn't need to have me do this, since they were all indexed already.

Well, smashbox does magenta automatically, but I didn't know that. Thanks for the tidbit.

So with smashbox, I won' t be able to edit the results screen CSPs?
133  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: CSP help for someone who can't use CUPASH on: October 21, 2009, 08:52:54 PM
Thanks man! Seriously helps me out with this. One thing though.

I will also note, if you want the CSPs to show on the Results Screen, you'll need to edit the MenSelcharB###.brres files as well.

Aren't those in the char_bust_tex_lz77 as well? Or do you mean I have to edit the brres file after putting the character images back in?

Also, so that I don't do the same stupid thing I did with strap loaders, all images are in tga format, right?
134  Help & Tutorials / Help / CSP help for someone who can't use CUPASH on: October 21, 2009, 08:18:44 PM
As STASH, ASH, and CUPASH currently refuse to detect ntcompress(for over two months now), I decided to use smashbox in order to change textures instead.

The problem? Holy crap, the common5.pac is huge. Is there a list of IDs and such stating where the character textures can be found in the first place? Right now, I'm just traying to change the CSPs. I'll get to the battle portraits later.

And yes, this topic makes me sound nubbish.

Bah. Meant to say you could still see Jigglypuff when Shiek throws Wisp.
