1  Help & Tutorials / Help / CSPs Problem #348568 on: December 04, 2009, 01:55:50 PM
So I recently edited my common5.pac with some CSPs. The format of every single one of the pictures is C18. All pictures are indexed the same way the original character pics are(Kirby's white costume with 80 colors for example).

The final file size was 11,455, so its not the file size being too big. But for whatever reason, this is freezing my game at the strap loader. If it helps, I'm using a custom title screen and a mu_menumain.pac. Those both work perfectly together though.

It's not the SD card, since everything else works just fine. So what exactly is the problem here? If it helps, I've uploaded my common5.pac to mediafire...

http://www.mediafire.com/?zmyy2anmydz

Can someone test it? I assumed that these things just don't work together, but that can't be. After all, I've used a common5 together with the custom music menu and title screen before and it gave no trouble. Although I only edited one picture  in it.
2  Help & Tutorials / Help / Something's wrong with the G-diffuser... on: November 15, 2009, 05:23:57 PM
I must apologize for posting yet ANOTHER topic about my CSP troubles, and Shadow and everyone else has been really helpful so far, but my problems persist.

Using smash/brawlbox to replace CSPs, I've always extrated the CSP I wanted to replace from the common5.pac, edited it in photoshop, and then replaced it after saving.

I want to know if this is even necessary. Basically, can I make a custom CSP from scratch with the same 128 x 160 borders, indexed color format, and same amount of colors as the CSP I wish to replace? Would the game work without it freezing? I would honestly try this myself but the Wii is currently out of the question for me...
3  Help & Tutorials / Help / Editing the title screen. Need assistance. on: November 13, 2009, 11:24:07 AM
So I'm working on a brawl+ title screen to use with the SD loader and aside from my own lack of any artistic talent, its coming along decently. I'm able to edit the pictures for the characters all staring over the cliff as well as some others. However, there's one hindrance.

The seperate textures for every single letter in the words Super Smash Brothers don't cooperate. They're all indexed, and extracting them with brawlbox as either a png or a tga distorts the way they look. This happens with a few other textures as well, but brawlbox is able to preview them normally, whereas exporting and replacing any of those specific textures, without editing them at all, messes them up altogether.

Is there any way around this? I doubt the title screen is ASHable(not that ASH works on my PC) and I don't have the oppurtunity to test whether or not brawlbox is just previewing things incorrectly.

The edited title screen before those textures works like a charm though.
4  Help & Tutorials / Help / Question about indexing csps.. on: November 07, 2009, 08:52:30 PM
If using smashbox/brawlbox, do I have to index anything at all? When I extract the original picture and then edit it in photoshop, the edited picture seems to take on the properties of the original anyway. For example, kirby's 06 texture is colored in grayscale. When replacing it with this, it becomes all black and white as well. (If there's a way around this, please let me know)

However, I had a problem a while back where I would use a picture of strikers Luigi as a csp and the game would freeze on me. So basically, do I need to index anything?
5  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Music & SFX / A, down, up, A, down, up (UPDATED!) on: October 28, 2009, 09:09:30 PM
So some maggot decided he'd take music belonging to other people, use programs created by other people in order to convert the music, inject the music into a mod he didn't make of a game he bought, and finally showcase the files in a topic on a forum. lol what a loser.

....Wait...that maggot was me...

Well, ****. ****

Yeah, I'm gonna post brstms I made in this thread. Unless otherwise specified, the songs are looped to the best of my ability at the time of their creation. I have tested all of them both on my computer and in game, so they're confirmed to work. If they don't though, let me know and I'll try to figure out what's causing the problem. Anyway, here are some of the brstms I've made. This topic will be updated in the future and will get some organization when I've submitted a substantial amount of stuff.

Remixes and rearrangements
Song Name: The Dark World - Sound and Drama CD
*Demo*

Original version

Info: Orchestrated version of Link to the Past's Dark world theme. I never did like the calm and tranquil feel of brawl's version

Song name: Supersonic Owl - Large Concert in the Starry Sky*Demo*
Original version

Info: Remix of Coo's theme from Kirby Dreamland 2. To my dismay, this song isn't on youtube. But I'll refrain from advertising anything.

Song name: Dark Castle - Blue Comet
*Demo*
Original version

Info: Remix of Dark Castle from Kirby Dreamland 2. One of the handful of songs I still bother questioning on the absence in brawl. The brstm includes the song's intro, which the youtube vid does not.

Song name: The Dark Matter: Zero - Large Concert in the Starry Sky *Demo*
Original version

Info: Remix of Hyperzone 2 from Kirby Dreamland 3, yet again from CoTSS. Not on youtube, but I personally thought this song deserved it.

Song name: Kirby 64 Dark Matter - PrototypeRaptor OCremix
*Demo*
Original version

Info: Remix of Miracle Matter's theme from Kirby 64. It was about time that kirby bosses who weren't named 02 stopped getting the shaft anyway.

Song name: Pokemon Crystal West Coast Radio - ProtoDome OCremix
*Demo*
Original version(N/A)
Info: Just listen to the song. I really don't remember the original aside from the fact that it played on one route in the game.

Song Name: Ghost Band - Knights of Round
*Demo*
Original version

Info: Remix of Phantom Ensemble from touhou 7. Made for Silent storm

Song Name: Tsunashima City Trial - Large Concert in the Starry Skyl
*Demo*

Original version

Info: Remix of City Trial from Kirby's Air Ride. I recommend Port Town for this song. It's...awesome.

Song Name: Gourmet Race - Large Concert in the Starry Sky
*Demo*

Original version

Info: Remix of Gourmet Race from Kirby Super star. As far as I know, unlike every other Gourmet Race remix ever, this one is different.

Song Name: Nightmare Type 2 - Large Concert in the Starry Sky
*Demo*

Original version

Info: Remix of the final boss theme of Kirby's Adventure/Nightmare in Dreamland.

Song Name: Porkie of Porkie of Porkie of Porkie - Otonoishi 2
*Demo*

Original version

Info: Techno remix of Porky's Porkies from Mother 3. This song totally isn't subliminal at all.

Song Name: NTD Melodies - Large Concert of the Starry sKy
*Demo*

Original 1 (Embedding disabled, limit reached), Original 2 (Embedding disabled, limit reached)
Info: Remix of Gourmet Race and Milky Way wishes ending. A bit annoying to loop, but I got it.

Song Name: Kirby Victory medley/Drawcia Sorceress - Large Concert of the Starry sKy *Demo*
Original (Embedding disabled, limit reached)
Info: A couple of things. First off, that isn't the name of the song. The name of the song...was lost in translation as far as I know. Second, the actual song is a medley of kirby's victory dance mashed with other kirby themes, and then drawcia's theme plays at the end. I'm not even sure why I converted this or why I even like it so much. I'm not even sure why I'm doing so many songs from this album, considering I only have 4 kirby songs on my SD card and only one of them plays on a non kirby stage. As odd as this song is, it was made by the same guy who made THIS (Embedding disabled, limit reached) so consider it a bonus.

Song Name: Falling down - Megaman Zero 4 remastered tracks*Demo* (Embedding disabled, limit reached)
Original version (Embedding disabled, limit reached)
Info: Final battle from Megaman Zero 4. I shed a tear.

Song Name: Ganon Battle -  Ocarina of Time - Rearranged album*Demo* (Embedding disabled, limit reached)
Original version (Embedding disabled, limit reached)
Info: Rearrange of the final battle from Ocarina of Time. I almost shed a tear.

Song Name: Necro Phantasia - Demetori*Demo* (Embedding disabled, limit reached)
Original version (Embedding disabled, limit reached)
Info: Remix of Yukari's theme from Touhou 7. D=

Song Name: Drawcia Sorceress - Blue Comet*Demo* (Embedding disabled, limit reached)
Original version (Embedding disabled, limit reached)
Info: Remix of Drawcia's theme from Kirby Canvas Curse. Because Blue Comet kicks ass.

Song Name: Underwater Paradise - Blue Comet*Demo* (Embedding disabled, limit reached)
Original version (Embedding disabled, limit reached)
Info: Remix of Aqua Star from Kirby 64.

Video Game music
Song name: Ultramarine Deep - Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim OST *Demo* (Embedding disabled, limit reached)
Info: Uh...I didn't see someone do this whereas other songs in the game were taken care of. Despite not being a battle theme, this is probably my 2nd favorite song in the game.

Song Name: G Free 32 Ultimate Dream - Touhou: Concealed the conclusion *Demo* (Embedding disabled, limit reached)
Info: The final spell card theme from Concealed the conclusion. A touhou fangame.

Song Name: Hyperzone - Kirby Dreamland 3 *Demo* (Embedding disabled, limit reached)
Info: Dark Matter boss theme from this game. I didn't make this brstm at all. My friend sharpshooter did.

Liscenced music
Song Name: Ski-Ba-Bop-Ba-Dop-Bop - John Scatman *Demo* (Embedding disabled, limit reached) Buy
Info:Ski ba bop ba dop bop!

Updated! Mostly Concert in the Starry Sky songs, but I did a few more too. I promise organization will come...when I do more songs aside from kirby stuff.
6  Help & Tutorials / Help / Help with music and possible SD problems. on: October 27, 2009, 09:43:47 PM
So I was just trying out a fairly SD card that I seldom use and I was messing around with PSA characters. Suddenly, my music stops playing and a sped up version of final destination started to play. I immeadiately quit the game and took the SD out, knowing that people have been screwed by SD music messups before.

This may have been a one time thing, but I don't want to take any chances. Barring getting a new SD, is there any way to fix this at all?
7  Help & Tutorials / Help / CSP help for someone who can't use CUPASH on: October 21, 2009, 08:18:44 PM
As STASH, ASH, and CUPASH currently refuse to detect ntcompress(for over two months now), I decided to use smashbox in order to change textures instead.

The problem? Holy crap, the common5.pac is huge. Is there a list of IDs and such stating where the character textures can be found in the first place? Right now, I'm just traying to change the CSPs. I'll get to the battle portraits later.

And yes, this topic makes me sound nubbish.
8  Help & Tutorials / Help / ASH won't work for me. on: August 11, 2009, 01:07:16 PM
Topic. Yes, I have NTcompress and TexConv in the same folder as ASH. But it says it can't find them. If it helps, I have ASH located in a folder in my My Documents folder.

C:\Documents and Settings\HP_Owner\My Documents\Texture Tools Period
9  Help & Tutorials / Help / Another question about effect textures on: August 05, 2009, 06:56:44 AM
So I downloaded some character effects that make my chars go mute and I was told that this was because they were from a different region. I was told that they could be converted, but how do I go about doing this?

Additionally, can Project SA also edit the colors on existing character effects as well?

Sorry if I come off as dumb. I get very little comp acess, so I aim to do things right the first time.

Edit: Crap! Wrong board. May a mod move this for me please?
