1  Help & Tutorials / Help / Character tiles have a gray background behind the picture itself on: October 28, 2011, 07:25:32 PM
I'm editing my MenSelchrFace icons within MiscData[70] of the sc_selcharacter.pac, replacing teh character icons with new ones that are transparent around the outer edge. However, it seems that there is a second texture in place, an opaque gray background behind the icon itself.

Is this a texture? A 3D model? And how would I go about banishing it from my CSS? Any assistance here would be greatly appreciated!
2  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Music & SFX / .brstm listening program? on: October 19, 2011, 12:25:01 AM
Is there an audio program out there that can read/play back .brstm files? It'd sure as Hell make remembering what a song is a lot easier when I'm trying to pick a stage to put it in.
3  Help & Tutorials / Help / Captain Falcon's helmet and shoulder-plate are black when previewing? on: October 17, 2011, 02:14:22 PM
Whenever I try to preview Captain Falcon's model in BrawlBox, his helmet and shoulder-plate are solid black. His other textures are a little wonky, but I've managed to get those to appear, but so far I haven't figured out Falcon's actual armor. There are similar issues with other armored characters, such as Ganondorf.

What do?

5  Help & Tutorials / Help / Tips on making CSPs? on: September 28, 2011, 03:35:21 PM
Using BrawlBox's preview mode, I've been posing characters and taking pics that way, and swapping the character's textures. This is a neat method of making uniform CSPs where the character is in the same pose each time.

But the problem arises when a character has different models for his/her different costumes. Short of opening up a new preview and posing the character in the exact same way, with the camera in the exact same place, there doesn't seem to be a plausible way of taking uniform pictures when a character has a vertex hack instead of a plain texture.

Sorry if this isn't very clear... If you don't understand, just ask and I'll try to clarify.
6  Help & Tutorials / Help / Does CSS Organizer 2.0 not work or something??? on: February 14, 2011, 06:22:07 PM
I'm trying to change the layout of my CSS to this:

Using the CSS Fix Code:

CSS Fix [Phantom Wings]
* 046A0C68 C2000000
* 0469DC18 40820030
* 0469DC40 2C030000
* 04689E88 60000000

I still manage to get this instead:

The portrait panels are where they should be, but the other stuff is just, long description short, retarded.

Plus, I saved my progress in CSS Organizer (using the layout in picture 1), closed Organizer, re-opened it, re-opened my CSS and the preview looked like the one in picture 2.

I use the standard 41-character CSS layout normally, and that's the one that's coded into my RSBE01.gct. Would the code on the RSBE01 conflict with the layout? I'm noticing that whatever I try it keeps that basic form and the characters stay in that order...

Explain what I'm doing wrong in the simplest terms possible because apparently I'm completely retarded, or link me to a thread that explains this as such. Please.
7  Help & Tutorials / Help / Gears in the background? on: February 11, 2011, 01:42:21 PM
The standard Brawl background uses animations of gears turning. Is there a way of duplicating that kind of effect, with certain parts of the bg animated and others not?
8  Help & Tutorials / Help / How to get rid of CSS nametags >.> on: February 08, 2011, 02:58:55 PM
Okay, SO. I'm editing my CSS for a hack an associate of mine is making, and one of the things I'm lookin to change is removing the names from the character tiles on the top-half of the screen. I've done it before, but I don't remember howwwwwww.

I've tried erasing the names so they're transparent, but that only makes it so the nametags are solid black bars. I've tried deleting the tags in BrawlBox, but all that does is make the nametags into solid GRAY bars.

It's not a huge deal to keep the tags, it's just that with the character pictures, half of the nametags cut off the characters' eyes. Plus who needs nametags? We KNOW who all the characters are already.
9  Help & Tutorials / Help / Gibberish when I try to replace certain files on: February 04, 2011, 01:47:02 PM
Whenever I try to and replace, say, a character's CSS Portrait name, or the title of a stage, or more recently, one of the lines of text on the title screen, when I replace the current image, the preview that appears upon ok-ing the replacement is nothing but black and gray static that juuuuust barely resembles what I put in.
10  Help & Tutorials / Help / Edit the title screen? on: February 03, 2011, 08:57:43 AM
How would I go about putting my own logo on the title screen in the place of the typical Brawl title/logo?
11  Help & Tutorials / Help / Trophy hacks in Balanced Brawl? on: December 19, 2010, 02:07:46 PM
Probably been answered a million  times already, but how does one add in new trophy textures/vertex hacks? If it's even possible in BB that is. There's no /toy directory to be found anywhere... If it's been answered already a link will suffice, thanks.
