Bush, this is a huge project you're about to start and I just want to say: YES!!! all of my YES!!! Have fun importing
Thanks for the support Makes this more wantadoable Bv Post Merge: February 08, 2014, 07:38:25 PMI really didn't like how my first T-Pose came out :I so I scrapped everything and started new again.
The good news is that I'm so familiar with the import of LoL characters that it only took a a minuet or two to import, resize and texture right
If anyone would like to help out or take a crack at this stuff, reply o:
There's a site with all of LoLs models (and textures). The only problem is that they're mirrored, so you have to re-mirror them (if you know what I mean).
Also, if you could get Zed to retract his blades, I'd love you (already planned a psa for him)
Don't worry about the models, I am able to use my LoL client (which is updated as often as I play it) and extract whatever I need. If they appear mirrored is should be easy enough to make it appear the right way. :J
I've made a lot of progress in one day. I've found a script and program that allows me to import any information from LoL into 3DS Max. Though it took some tweaking of information I've found, as most of it is outdated. Don't worry, when I get all this working I'll be sure to make a tutorial.
My first mod will be of Zed over Sheik.
Why Zed?
Because his name starts with Z and it's the easiest to find in the mountains of data Post Merge: February 07, 2014, 12:43:53 PM
This is interesting, I don't even play LoL but I find some of their models really cool. I could help T-posing if it is needed at some time. Since I don't get much free time.
I have recently become interested in model importing through chance. I love me some LoL, and Smash Bros. has always been a big part of my gaming life, so it's nice I can combine the two.
So, this will be the topic I post with progress and things for switching characters from each others games. Right now I'm focusing on getting characters from LoL into Brawl, but hopefully I can do the reverse with a little research.
For my first trick, I'll be putting Zed over Sheik
1st Day:
Originally I was working on importing a simple bush 3D model that a friend/fan made into Brawl, but I quickly found out that that wasn't possible because the bush was made of some material that I couldn't scale down to fit to Kirby (who I was planing on rigging it to). However, while research DAE importing, I found that it wasn't as hard as thought. But I didn't want to just do something everyone else has done, I wanted to do something new.
And so I looked into League of Legends.
-Started project -Downloaded 3DS Max, Raf Manager and other needed programs -Successfully imported Sheik and Zed into 3DS Max -Fixed texture on Zed
2nd Day:
I mostly worked on getting the arms in the right position. I was hopping I could just rotate the shoulder bone, but there are none on this model unfortunately, so I manually moved the vertex to look right. However this pointed to a bigger problem of not having "Skin" selection. All my sources say that I need that to continue rigging. But with the help a few other modders I found that it was a simple fix. Eventualy with more fiddling around moving vertexes I found a few tricks out and scrapped everything and started again with T-posing. It came out a lot better than the first time, plus I managed to get Zed relitivly proportioned onto Sheik's skeleton
-Moved Zed's arms -Found problem with no "Skin" selection, simple fix -Scrapped everything, but back on pace with old progress within same day -Better job at lining up model and bones
