Hello. I'm simply wondering what the maximum amount of polygons (triangles) are for a character, to not lag the game. Pretty straight forward question. Thanks.
If I take a file (let's say for example FitPeac00.pac) and all other associated files (movest, animations, sounds, whatever else that may entail) and put it into another character's folder, would I be able to have 2 of the same character, but selected with different portraits/css?
I want to make a totally new character with custom model, bones, and animations. Basically, I'm wondering if I make my custom pacs and pcses etc, can I rename them to any character so much as it is placed in the proper characters folders etc?
BlackJax, do you intend on releasing an animation converter to convert those .chr0 files into a more Maya/3DS Max friendly file format? I would love you forever for that, honestly.
How'd you attach the weapon to the character model?
I know FFX characters have a joint that's used like a HaveN, how to attach the weapon to it?
I pre posed the hand and fingers and rigged the weapons to one of the finger bones on each hands, I figure that way I'll be able to rotate and move the weapons freely when I go to make a moveset/animations .
What this is about: X_funtaztic_X (Tao kaka) and I are combining modding forces to bring YRP (Yuna, Rikku, and Paine) into the Smash Bros world. I am currently working on Rikku, X_funtaztic_X (Tao kaka) is working on Paine and then onto Yuna.
The planned bonesets: Rikku is currently using Zero Suit Samus' bones. For the most part, she's fully rigged. Paine will be using Ike's bones, and Yuna will be using Zelda's bones.
Other plans: Personally, I intend to add both of Rikku's daggers (model courtesy of Zac268) and release a fully custom animation set and moveset.X_funtaztic_X (Tao kaka)'s plans are posted below this post. Go look at it

better rig?? whats wong with mine??...nvm that...but wont seperate blades make the blades invisible?? such as the example the...sora over pit vertex??
Not if they're rigged correctly. Notice how Pit has like, 4 blades on in Brawlbox but in game, only a few are displayed at a time? It's how the moveset and animations work. For example, during his AAA, the Bow blade is invisible because the Bow is rigged to a bone and the game tells it to not be displayed I think. If this is not the case, the moveset tells the polygons to appear and disappear, which would be problematic for me.
it wasnt orginally my shader lol...its Mr.lol's....he just gave i to me..but i do have a question....your making zidane over pit right??? wouldnt it be the exact same hack then??
I am making mine over Pit. The only differences is that mine will feature the blades as separate entities (meaning, he'll equip and unequip them as pit does) and with a better rig (No offense intended to you.) So it's not exactly the same, but basically yeah. I'd also like to have my models for my project be made by people on my team so I don't have to go about crediting >9000 other people.
