After some tinkering and guesswork, I've managed to get BrawlBox (.63d) in a perfectly working state within Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx. The images and menu are somewhat skewed, but besides that - everything works as it should.
Because the instructions are followable in OSX as well (not these instructions exactly, but OSX has WINE and Winetricks, which is required for this to work), I have reason to believe that this will allow users to run BrawlBox in OSX too.
---------
Here's the simple tutorial I've whipped up.

Getting BrawlBox working within Ubuntu (+ other Linux Distros / Mac OSX (unconfirmed))
Components Required WINE v1.1.42 (or higher) Winetricks • allfonts (instead of corefonts, tahoma, and liberation)?[or separately]: corefonts, tahoma, liberation • d3dx9 (helps) • ie6 (helps) • dotnet20 (install as windows version 2000) • dotnet30 (install as windows version xp)
---------------------------------------------------------- Step Three: Run Winetricks / Install Needed Components Install "allfonts" • Alt + F2 to open "Run Application" dialogue. • Type "sh winetricks" without the quotes. • Select allfonts (or corefonts, tahoma, and liberation separately) • Click ok, and Install.
Continue to install these one at a time in the order listed above. Refer to the images below for what settings WINE should have when installing dotnet20 and dotnet30.
To change the Default Windows installation environment in Wine by going to Applications >> Wine >> Configure Wine
(Settings for when installing dotnet20)
(Settings for when installing dotnet30)

Do not bother Kryal with Ubuntu / OSX related issues. Direct them to Jack H.

I have a vertex hack for this thread. Sorcerer Link. It has Link's tunic being extended, so that it looks somewhat like a robe, a different shape for the sword, and a slightly deformed arm protection.
Updated the first post with the new release that was placed onto the blog post. Should fix most animation issues. Check the blog comments for a time frame of when to expect the next few updates.
I have a glitch to report, however reading the previous posts, im assuming you already know.
- NTSC - Wii, the latest one. (the one before glitchy 4.0) - i havent truely tested this one like i should have, but since i played with fox against him. - from what ive seen, everytime he goes into his collapsed animation (ie someone hits him, he falls, hits ground, then stays there in a collapsed look..) when he tries to get back up, the game still plays music, but everyone is frozen. i assume that is a soft freeze you mentioned earlier?
-This is the 'Stand-up' Glitch, I have already fixed this and it works now.
as for some input about the moveset, to me, it seems it doesnt blend well.. the smashes give him a sense that he is heavy like Ike, but for his up B and such, he feels soo much lighter as it happens really quickly. -Wolf is considered Heavy and he has fast moves (Like side spam smash, though he does fall like a rock )
i guess after playing him with ikes moveset for so long, it made the changes seem more apparent. not to mention, the down b on the ground goes WAY too far, idk if this is reflectable/absorbable like a projectile, but it DEFINATELY should be, otherwize that thing is way too strong.
-I agree with the whole absorb/reflect, though we CAN nerf it's damage and knockback. But I say keep the range.
and with the exception of his side smash, everything else makes it seem like his range is very limited (with the exception of fira) -He's a sword character after all, so yes he will be limited to some close-range fighting.
just my two sense, but please do, enjoy your juice and lawn chairs XD

My Response is in Green
Oh Yes and let me reiterate the Fix-List
Fixes: Stand-up glitch Sleeping glitch (Peach's Final) Bridge of Eldin Glitch 4 Player Cloud
^^Read that before you post any further glitches
The download is UP on the post now. Go update your Clouds, and then continue to report bugs here. Bugs from version 2.0a will be ignored from here on out. Our goal is to make sure he doesn't freeze your game. We'll talk about making him balanced after that.
Wait, homebrew works on Dolphin now? Man, I need to get a new laptop.
Aside from emulators, I have my two cents to point out now. I know you're asking for glitches, but not many casual hackers are good at finding them, so i'll focus on gameplay. The only 'glitch' I found, per say, was that his winning-waiting animations are completely frozen. Not that it freezes the game, but rather the animation is frozen.
MASSIVE GAMEPLAY REVIEW TEXT WALL. DO NOT READ IF IRRELEVANT.
All in all, Cloud has no obvious weakness to be exploited. His worst point is getting back on stage, and it's mediocre at worst. His Side-B and Up-B are fine for recovery. His Up-B moves are also bad at hitting people.
You want to really beat Cloud? Get a character with projectiles.
There's no way to approach him without them, and when you do, it can only get worse.
From above? His Uair will juggle you, no matter how long the dodge is. For variation, try Nair instead and laugh when opponents can't get away from it's huge hitbox.
From below? Expect a Dair, Toon Link style and less lag. Or a Down-B. Slower, but great for off-stage spiking.
From the side? Cloud has two projectiles (Neutral-B and Down B) that can be predicted and dodged, but off-stage they become scary edge-guarders. His Foward Smash is fine for dealing with people that are good at spacing.
His F-tilt is mediocre, his D-tilt is better than Ike's, and his U-Tilt is magical. Compare the Utilt to Sheik's Ftilt.
Is Cloud on the ledge? His Side-Aerial move will hit anyone waiting for him, with it's massive reach.
It's so satisfying to land a full Aerial Neutral B on someone.
And there's my gameplay review on Cloud. Balanced? Nope. Legit? Yes. It's Cloud Strife, he's supposed to kick everyone's a**.
Thanks. This kind of input is also appreciated. We'll be sitting in our lawn chairs slurping juice - but we'll be on our netbooks on the front lawn read'n the subtle suggestions. You wont go unheard.
Another reported glitch: More than one Cloud at a time causes a soft-freeze (however, not the buzz of death). Most likely due to the incredibly massive FitMotionEtc file-size.
Excellent work on this. You need/want any help? We should probably use bone modification to adjust is overall size. We'll worry about getting him onto the ground instead of hovering after the size editing later.
Yup, tomorrow. And get ready. It's being released similar to the way Gmail was: Pretty much done, but we're slapping a "beta" name under it cause we want feedback on how it can be subtly improved.
