1  Super Smash Bros. 4 Hacking / Discussion / Re: Thinking of Updating an old Sorcery PSA... on: April 14, 2023, 11:57:51 AM
Is there an equivalent tool for making PSAs on Smash 4?
I used to design PSAs - it was actually my first experience in 'coding'. Lol.

I'm curious if things would be much different in the Smash 4 universe given the range of resources it has access to with modern gen tech.

(Thank you for reply btw. I've heard in another post that community is more active on Discord. Though my experience there wasn't great a couple years back)

Thank you. Will check it out. =)

(If anyone notices, sorry for the double-post >_>)

Hiya, its been a while since I've been here.
I was thinking about porting over/updating one of my old sorcery PSAs (if not designing a new one entirely).
I'm curious about a few things though...

Does PSA (Project Smash Attack program) still work for latest smash or is there a new software on the block?

Is this community still active, or is smash modding 2023 mostly deprecated?

Can latest smash be emulated on PC for ease of development?
(If I'm not allowed to ask this here, please just ignore this question).

Should this be a Smash 4 or Brawl update?

Mainly, I'm just looking to discuss logistics because this thought is kind of a whim.

It's not a "God Mod", but you are entitled to your own opinions Gamidame_K.

Question: Will this code

No Second Character Samus/Zss [ASF1nk]
04ad828C FFFFFFFF
04ad829C FFFFFFFF

Work with Samus in Brawl Ex? The idea is to cannibalize ZS Samus so that Regular Samus has more memory/space to work with. It's for a Phoenix PSA I plan on finishing up. The code is from this source: http://forums.kc-mm.com/index.php?topic=61315.msg1159330#msg1159330

Also, if the answer is 'yes it will work' then which of the codes lists in nebulon's pack/ codes should I use as a base before adding this code in? (Is there a way to decipher an already created RSBE01 file?)

8  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Programming / Cannibalize ZS Samus to provide more space for Samus's.Pac? on: July 29, 2014, 11:06:37 PM
As the title suggests, I'm wondering if its possible to cannibalize ZS Samus so regular Samus has more space to work with?

I want to use regular Samus for my Phoenix PSA due to her homing articles and lingering bomb traps. But regular samus has only 7 kb between her starting size and her maximum size. I'm hoping that there's a code out there (or that someone can write a code) that will cannibalize ZS and add her space to Samus so that I can have a larger PSA for Samus. (I wanted Phoenix to have Dark Phoenix mode, homing orbs, and glyph traps).

Edit: It turns out there is a code to do that.
No Second Character Samus/Zss [ASF1nk]

Samus Note: Increases memory available for movesets over Samus or Zss.
Stops the game from loading either ZSS or Samus as second characters when

selecting the other. For obvious reasons no transforming Final Smash

9  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Re: Project Ahri (More than 90% completed, updating forum this weekend) on: July 13, 2014, 12:05:26 PM
Sorry guys, I was a little late in checking this forum and it didn't auto-update me whenever someone responded. (Probably because I kept it open amidst a large number of unchecked tabs, I apologize, lol).

@ Ahrzayl's June 30 reply: Thank you for saying the PSA has been well-done. The OP has been updated, the skin has been added (credit to DSX8 or Demonslayerx8 for his skillful work) and the moveset has everything except final smashes & grabs. I hope you'll enjoy it. (Additionally, I appreciate the suggestions for final smashes ^_^)

@ 133Death: Isn't her ultimate from LoL her Spirit Rush? That would probably be very simple but highly effective. A spirit dash across the entire stage (like Marth's, except it hits everything in it's path and only stops after 100 feet or at stage's end. Hmm...

@ Ahrzay's July 5th reply: Noted :-), I have an idea. I'm not sure how it will come out, but I have an idea currently. It's actually a composite attack combining both of your suggestions. It uses her original attacks to make more powerful versions. We'll see how it comes out, lol.

@ Caporai: There was a program called 'external graphics editor' or 'ext gfx editor', but now the latest brawl box (v73 i think) can switch them. Replacing the individual reff files in the FitChar.pac (not the PTC reff files, necessarily though that is possible) replaces some of the gfx effects. But replacing Luigi's fireball is easier than Ganon's iirc- because Luigi's is ONLY a Ptc file responsible for his green flames and Ganon's has like 4-5 sub files responsible for different parts.

@MAriodk, that beam looks beautiful ^_^

And if you wanted to make it more magical, you could add elemental attacks or special effects to her dagger strikes, maybe something that complements her light arrow.

Maybe she could even have some of toon link's counter attack animations from windwaker (you know like when he presses the A button and rolls around the enemy into an upward strike) except as her forward or back tilt or something.

Maybe her dagger strikes could leave a trail of glowing light or electric energy/magic sparkles as she attacks.
Maybe, because she is less skilled in magic than adult Zelda, she has an easier time just channeling her light magic into a weapon (which she is probably trained to use) rather than calling the pure energy itself.

Lol, no worries Kokuto. I just learned that now too d^_^b

Nice, I'm glad you like the idea Linnc. Hmm.
Have you considered importing a dagger/short sword and using that for some of Toon Zelda's attacks?
I only mention that because Tetra has one at her side here: http://zelda.wikia.com/wiki/Tetra

I'm not a huge fan of sword attacks (or animating them) but it might make sense in terms of her lore.
(I've only played Windwaker from her lore though. )

Hey, just a brief comment. (Maybe not so brief)

I'm not sure which incarnation of toon zelda you are using (or if you're using the wind waker version specifically to draw ideas from for her moveset)

But maybe she should have a jigglypuff-like music attack using an imported ocarina that has random magical effects (like putting opponents to sleep, stunning them or planting them in the ground).

15  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Re: Project Ahri (check back at the end of May!!) on: May 15, 2014, 12:27:49 PM
My apologies for any confusion.
I know how to use the boards, post and add pictures - which is why I'm not overly concerned about doing so (the PSA takes priority).
Though I did add them as soon as I had a few more of the visual moves finished.

@Scout: My apologies for uploading multiple times, the interface has altered in subtle ways and when I saw that the loading bar (with the gray squares - while uploading a pic) was continuing to cycle, I thought my PC was lagging rather than creating the entry so I clicked it again (not the best move perhaps but it sucks having to refill out the entire form after hours of PSAing, lol).

I believe I have caught and deleted the excess entries now that Nano -_- had so diligently pointed it out, ahah! ^_^
If there's anything that I have missed feel free to let me know.

@Nanu: And, in the future Nano, rather than reporting my entry several times to instill a sense of warning & urgency in me, a simple PM will do. I am a civil man, lol. No harm, no foul.
