Bump.

I only know how to edit the results screen portrait. To do it you need to create a .brres file and put it in pf/menu/common/char_bust_tex if you use Gecko, or brawlmods/textures/menu/common/char_bust_tex if you use Riivo.

And the Portraits for them would be the same for the CSPs? (128x160)

Edit: If so, I could just extract them from the common5, right?

Yeah those dimensions are correct.

And yeah you could, unless you want to have a custom one, in which you'd just have to edit it in GIMP or PhotoShop so that it has those dimensions.

Defrag your SD card.

Or defrag my SD card? how do i do that i admit i'm a noob at defraging a SD card.
So how do i defrag my SD card and what does it do? if it removes ALL of my files and other stuff on my SD card i won't do it sorry.

It doesn't remove anything it just cleans up your SD card. Think of it as using a broom to sweep up all the dirt.

Also, even if it did remove stuff on your SD card you can just copy all of your stuff somewhere else onto your computer you know.

51  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: Issues with stages on: February 23, 2011, 10:45:55 PM
Hmm, that's odd but ok. The reason I say odd is because I got two different hacks for cresselia (3) and Palkia (2) and the Palkia worked fine but if you say so. As for the .rel files, the most recent battlefield one I got didn't come with one. Where can I find them?

Wait so it's not a custom stage you're replacing Spear Pillar with? You're just texturing the Pokemon? If so, then you don't need all three files. That's only if you're replacing the stage completely with a custom-made one. If you're trying to change the appearance of Cresselia, then make sure that .pac file is renamed to STGTENGAN_3.pac. For Palkia, STGTENGAN_2. For Dialga, STGTENGAN_1.

If that still doesn't work, then I'm sorry but I don't know what the deal is other than it's probably just a bad hack. But I've never textured Spear Pillar I've totally replaced it with a custom stage.

All .rel files can be found in the Data Partition in the Resources area of this site. But first, are you trying to port a stage over to another stage that it's not based off of? Because that's what the .rel files are for. If your Battlefield hacks are based off of Battlefield and you're putting it over Battlefield then you don't need a rel. You'd only need a rel if you want your Battlefield-based hack to replace let's say Smashville, and in that case you would have to download a battlefield rel (st_battlefield.rel) and hex edit it into a Smashville rel.

Here is a link: http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=bf68243dc4c908b28d78a0e5552916095d6170349cac00195be6ba49b5870170

Just click the first folder you see, then click on "module" and look in that folder for the .rels you need.

Just tried the TENGAN thing, still froze.

Answer what I said above.

Well I'll use the Temporal Pinnacle hack for the Dialga Spear Pillar as an example. I rename it to "STGTENGAN_1.pac" and it freezes upon trying to load the stage. The file is placed in F:/private/wii/app/RSBE/pf/stage/melee and like I said, some of the stages do work. (25% of them.)

Also the stages that work aren't dependant on the stage itself. I've used two Battlefield hack before, one of them worked and the other didn't.

Ok, upon reading the first line of your post I spotted something wrong already. It freezes because you only have your custom stage replacing STGTENGAN_1 leaving the other two unreplaced. Make three copies of your STGTENGAN_1.PAC, naming them STGTENGAN_2 and STGTENGAN_3.

Any stage that has a "_#" after its name, you'll have to create copies of your custom stage to equal the number of "_#"s the original stage has. For example, Smashville has five .pac files. If you want to replace this stage, you'll have to create five copies of your custom stage's pac, and rename them STG(whatever Smashville's ISO name is)_1, _2, _3, _4 and _5. I have a custom stage over Smashville as well as Spear Pillar, so you can be sure this works.

And for your second question, it's possible that either the hack is bad or you might've needed a .rel file.

What do you rename them all to? Where do you place them? I know you said you renamed them correctly and placed them correctly but if the majority of your stages are freezing then you had to have done something wrong, because I never have any problems with mine.
54  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: Brawl- hacks loading along with Project:M on: February 23, 2011, 09:25:47 PM
1. You can't run P:M through RiiFS with the Gecko Setup in your SD to load custom textures.
2. Are the title screen and main menu files in menu2 or pfmenu2?
3.It maybe that one of the XML's are messing with one other XML.

about the pfmenu2 folder:

it is located right next to the RSBE folder. Tongue

If you have a pfmenu2 folder, it could be the files in there messing with your ProjectM files in the menu2 folder.

I heard Brawl- uses the pfmenu2 folder so take everything out of that folder and see if it helps.

1. I never said I wanted to use RiiFS with P:M. Just saying I have the XML sitting in there in case one day someone miraculously helps me figure out how to use what appears to be the the most challenging Brawl hack known to man also known as RiiFS.

2. They're both in the pfmenu2 folder. I set up my XML so that it will read it, too. And, like I said, Brawl Minus reads them but when I load the P:M codeset it doesn't anymore, but my pfmenu2 looks the same as it does in BionicSonic's modlauncher.

No my pfmenu2 is on my SD card root. And yes I have my XML edited to read it there and it does. Only for Brawl Minus, though.

Maybe.

So you're saying only Brawl- uses pfmenu2 and P:M uses menu2? So I'll have to move my pfmenu2 stuff into menu2 in Project M's folder?

Then, the problem is just you.

You probably haven't followed the directions right.

Get rid of everything that you have setup for RiiFS and set it up again using a guide, following EVERY step.

What could I have possibly done wrong? I have RiiFS working and it even connected to my game once, but I just need to know why it doesn't read the hacks I put in the folders in C:\Program Files\RiiFS. I even had a Riivolution expert named Midnite on All is Brawl help me with all the RiiFS stuff and not even he can get it to work. He got the old RiiFS to work but he can't get the newer RiiFS I'm using to work. Probably because it's more convoluted.

TinyPic, anyone? The only thing I hate about that site though is they make you do CAPTCHA verification codes.

They do? I use Tinypic and have never had to fill out a CAPTCHA to upload.

Have you used it recently? Maybe the last time you used it was when it didn't have CAPTCHAs, and that was a loooooong time ago. If you still don't get the CAPTCHA then you're one lucky SOB, but I can even take a screen shot and prove to you that TinyPic makes me do CAPTCHAs.

Well, Imageshack is faster because BrawlVault has a system that makes it easier to use it.

That's why I suggest Picano to change the Imageshack thingie on "Submit" to another site.
Preferably not one you need to register.

I've never used it; TinyPic has been my image hosting site of choice for years. It used to be perfect until the site decided to make people do verification codes before uploading Im srs here

Bump.

Wow, this situation is a [censored] pickle. Im srs here

First of all, I'd like you to name ALL of the XML's you have in your Riivolution folder.

Second, are you using the XML that allows you to use the Gecko setup for Riivolution?

Third, make sure the Main Menu file is loaded with _en on the end [ex: common5_en.pac]

All of the XMLs in my Riivolution folder? I have BionicSonic's smashmods.xml and riifstemplate.xml for RiiFS which I can't get to work.

Yeah I'm using a Gecko XML I set up myself. I edited BionicSonic's modlauncher XML to my own liking and have everything working with Gecko's setup.

It doesn't make a difference whether it has _en or not -- it will not load either way. It loads when I play Brawl Minus, though.

Your Wii is connected to your own computer's Router or LAN adapter, correct?

Also, are you using a connection that isn't yours? (such as: Searching For an Access Point and choosing your neighbor's access point) RiiFS will NOT work if you use a connection that is not owned by you.

If you don't get the sentence above, I will explain it a bit better:

If you aren't using your own connection (wireless or wired) streaming from your computer to your Wii, RiiFS will not work.

Yeah my Wii is connected to my own connection. Always has been.
