Still not working, the game still loud freezes before the Results screen when I use the extra costume. I noticed this time that even using Ganon's default costume, one that I haven't done anything to, the game will still freeze, but it doesn't freeze if I use Link or Mario's default costume, for example.
I'm just going to write out exactly what I've done so far:
1) I took a vanilla PM 3.01 and I added the Classic Expansion Pack 6.01m files to it. (This may be where I messed up...)
2) I used the cBliss tool on the gct file and I gave everyone the default P:M amount of costumes, except for Ganon who I gave one more (7).
3) In system\common5.pac, sc_selcharacter, char_bust_tex_lz77, MiscData[19], I added a MenSelchrFaceB.197.
4) In info\portrite\ I added a InfFace197.
5) In menu\common\char_bust_tex\ I added a MenSelchrFaceB.190 which includes textures MenSelchrFaceB.191-197.
And I'm still getting the freezes I described earlier.
I did the exact same thing (with 3.02, which is the same codeset anyway) only with a few other characters. Checked everything 4 or 5 times today and it still freezes as soon as I try to go to the CSS. Might try starting over again later, but I don't get exactly what could be wrong with it based on where I put everything.
Figured I'd share this here where all the Fire Emblem stuff is. Not a hack, but over the past few months, I've been recording a Fire Emblem guitar album based on Awakening's soundtrack. It's called 'Exalted Melodies' and features 46 songs from the game completely rerecorded by me on guitar and bass. Just finished recording it last night and mastering it this morning. All I have to say from a musical perspective: 'Holy [censored] the composers are good.' Now I have to finish packing for MAGFest.
Marth is my Main in brawl, so i picked up Roy, and gee, im terrible with him cuz i try to play liek marth. Its still fun though.
I can use him fairly well with a bit of practice, but one thing I've never been able to get down is his counter timing. Not the most useful move he has, but Marth's feels so easy to me compared to Roy's. I like some of Roy's new moves better, the tilts especially, but I can never hit his DAir when it really counts. I'll miss it 10 times in a row trying over a ledge for a kill, then randomly hit it when I don't mean to above the stage. At least I can usually get his BAir.
I can work with just about any character I have, but I usually tend to prefer heavier characters like Ganon, Link, and Falcon, so I was never great with Mewtwo. I respect the new abilities the PMBR have given him, but he's just not really for me, at least from a competitive stand point. I didn't really care for Roy much in Melee either, but I actually really like him in PM. I'm just so used to Marth's sweet spots so I miss half of the time with Roy's.
It basically tricks the game into letting your character run backwards by changing direction without tilting the stick the other direction, but rotating it instead.
One example would be, you could be facing right with Falcon, but with moonwalking, you move left while facing right, allowing you to do something like a reversed knee or something like that. It's a tricky move to pull off, especially with someone like Ganondorf. Characters like Falcon and Link (for some reason) can do pretty well without wavedashing, but Ganon has very little momentum from the start of his dash since he's so slow, so he can't go very far without wavedashing into his moonwalk. Still, it can be done, as shown by Bizzarroflame.
Be careful mochtroid not to imply that one needs to wavedash in order to moonwalk.
I realize that you don't HAVE to, but it's almost impossible to moonwalk with someone like Ganondorf if you don't. The farthest I've gotten him to go without wavedashing is about... nowhere. Literally the spot where he started. Link on the other hand can do it pretty well without wavedashing, better than anyone else as far as I know.
I always thought wave dashing was just air dodging in any direction, but what is it actually?
Not exactly. You air dodge into the ground, keeping the momentum from the air dodge which makes you slide on the ground without having to run. (In the case of Falcon and Ganondorf, it allows you to moonwalk if you do it right.) Ground distance varies based on the angle of the air dodge. Probably not quite the best way to put it, but I'm no expert on the subject, I just do it.
Believe me, it's tough to pick up at first, but once you get used to it, you pretty much can't unlearn it, it becomes second nature. I just picked it up a few months ago. Once you get it down, it's not that hard to do. It also varies from character to character so if you're using someone like Ganon or Falco or Marth or Samus, they all handle a bit differently, but that's really only an issue if you're trying to master a specific character.
