1  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: Having issues loading mods on my Wii on: March 20, 2020, 07:39:21 PM
Glad to see it works now, but it's a bit weird. I use a 16GB SDHC card to play Project M, and it seems to work. I also use CFG USB Loader since my Wii can't read dual layered discs anymore, and as far as I can remember, I didn't have to make additional configurations to make that SD card work.

Could it be the SD card format?

I have no idea. My card format is FAT32. Is yours different? I am at a total lo ss here.

Hello to anyone who is still here!

So, I've been out of the modding scene for a very long time, and I'm very rusty on my knowledge. I'm trying to load up some of my old collection of Brawl mods, but I can't get anything to show up but a regular Brawl. Well, not completely regular. The codes seem to work, as my CSS is altered, but nothing really changed. I've tried running it through CFG USB Loader, and with the game disc. The result is the same. I've even tried running a pre-made modpack, PMEX: Remix 0.7b to be exact, but still nothing. The game just boots straight into the CSS, which I assume is a part of the coding.

So, in short, the codes register, but the mods don't. I swear I have everything where it needs to be. (Root:)/private/wii/app/RSBE/pf and all the rest. What am I missing?

Is there a more streamlined process to loading mods nowadays?

EDIT: OK, apparently I forgot I can't run hacks through a 16GB SDHC card. So, I dug up an old 2GB SD card and everything is working as intended. Problem solved!

Although... I could have sworn I read somewhere that there was a way to run hacks on any SD card of any size, but I didn't read too much into it... Was I mistaken? I would appreciate some clarification on this.

The BrawlEx Config Utility is in the OP.
4th download link (under downloads.)

I am truly blind... -_- Thank you, though.

Umm... I may be incredibly blind right now, but where is the BrawlEx Config Utility? It's not in the OP, and I've done a thread search and couldn't find it. Can't seem to find it anywhere else either except in Sammi Husky's video tutorial description; however, that version gives me this error: "Could not open file: Unsupported FighterConfig version." Also, it's apparently version 1.1 instead of 1.2 like the zip file says. Not sure how much that matters.
5  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: How do I edit FitDedede.pac and the PKMN Trainer's Pokemon? [SOLVED] on: July 05, 2014, 04:09:44 PM
It turned out to be nothing more than a filesize issue. Every time I would save the PACs, the sizes would inflate. With a little trial and error, shuffling among PSA versions 1.3, 1.9, and 2.35, I eventually got the filesizes perfect and they work perfectly in my Brawl now, no freezes.

For me, PSA version 1.3 worked for Dedede and Ivysaur, 1.9 worked for Squirtle, and 2.35 worked for Charizard. When I say "worked," I mean it saved them at the correct filesize and didn't inflate. I'm sure it was completely random that I got the filesizes correctly saved, so I don't think it'll work the same way for everybody, but that's how I solved it. Smiley

Sorry to necro-post, but I still haven't solved this yet. I updated the title and original post with better details.

Okay, I found this thing called "PSAmod.exe" by Dantarion (Why is this not easy to find?) and it allowed me to edit FitDedede.pac. Awesome! However, I'm still having problems with freezing with both Dedede and the PT Pokemon. So, not quite solved yet. Any suggestions?

Wolf's Group ID should be "43" and the announcer should range between "220" and "223". You can find these when you load up smashbros_sound.brsar in Super Sawndz.
8  Help & Tutorials / Help / How do I edit FitDedede.pac and the PKMN Trainer's Pokemon? [SOLVED] on: February 02, 2014, 11:26:56 AM
What am I supposed to do to edit FitDedede.pac? I've tried every version of PSA from the Resources section, and not a single one will open it. They all say "Cannot locate file data. Could not open file." All I'm trying to do is edit the sound effects for certain sub actions. I was able to open PKMN Trainer's Pokemon .pac files and edit it (with the version the readme tells me to), but when I select the characters in the game after editing them, it freezes on the CSS.

I've read that you can open and edit them with Brawlbox, but where in the file do I find the sound effects section?

Please, help. I would greatly appreciate it.
9  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Programming / Re: Super Sawndz! on: December 09, 2013, 02:13:43 AM
I'm using Super Sawndz v. 1.0.1 (which you can get from BrawlVault). When I downloaded it, it didn't come with those two files SonicBrawler listed, but it's able to import .wav files and create .sawnd files just fine. I just have the files that the readme.txt said to have.

What isn't creating .sawnd files for me though is the Super Sawndz mod from this thread: http://forums.kc-mm.com/index.php?topic=61460.0
I try to create a .sawnd file and nothing happens, nothing shows up in the folder I save it in. They're not invisible either. They were simply never created.

So, as far as I know, don't use the Super Sawndz from that thread. Use the one off of Brawl Vault, get the required files from the readme, and everything will be fine. If you've been using the regular one this whole time and it hasn't been working, then I don't know what to say. :/

I'm so flipping in love with this, dude. You have no idea how happy I am to see this. I've already gone crazy on the LST post's comment section. XD

Just a few questions, though.

Did you even out the Wario costumes, or did you just drop the last two classic Wario costumes?

What is CLR? I use these Mr. Game & Watch textures here and was wondering how I could retain those and possibly add to them.

I may have more later, but this is all I can think of right now.

Since the update renders the first question irrelevant, does anyone have an answer for the second question?

Dang. I take a 4-month hiatus from Brawl hacking and I miss out on 6 wonderful new poses... SIX!
Welp. Guess I better wait till you start accepting individual requests. That new cBliss got me PUMPED to get back into hacking, so I'm super hype right now.

the first problem you had with the slide might be fixed Grin but i don't use items and i think 80% of BV doesn't either exept for Smash Ball
Sorry for the late reply.

The item issue isn't a big deal. The big issue is with Sonic's spring, since that's a direct problem with another character in the game. It doesn't occur all the time, but when it does, the game slows down obnoxiously, and the game starts fast forwarding to catch up. Just put Sonic & Knuckles in a match together, or 2 Sonics and 2 Knuckleses, any variation as long as Sonic & Knuckles are both in the match. No items are necessary.

I really do think your Knuckles over Jigglypuff is the best Knuckles PSA port I've seen/used. It would suck for such a great port to be hindered by some dumb glitch.
14  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Programming / Re: [Official] Brawlbox Development: RSAR almost done on: February 05, 2013, 11:43:07 PM
Excuse me, but I need some help. I've been using KTH's True Mario vertex over the default Mario slot, but when I go to the controller setup menu, the game freezes. I was told that if a custom texture is compressed in LZ77ex, it will freeze in the controller mode. I'm guessing it's because it's instantly spawned, which explains why said textures also freeze when summoned in training mode (when you add CPUs), in "team" battles in Classic Mode, and Stage Builder testing, which also uses default Mario.

I put the True Mario vertex in Brawlbox, and it says "LZ77". No "ex", but I assume it's the same thing. I don't really know, though. So, my question is... WHAT DO?!

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this kind of post...
15  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: ShadowSnake's Imports: John Marston RELEASED, New POLL on: February 04, 2013, 11:24:20 PM
@ Gigaman

Love the recolors, nice job with them!

Thanks! I actually plan to make my own recolors of some Paper Mario character hacks I've collected, so Bombette was just the start of a long series of recolors from me.

Lastly, i would like more feedback on the work that i do, even a little criticism if needed. I plan to take a permanent leave from brawl hacking this year to focus on college more and pursue my dream at becoming a professional game developer. I feel like I can rig models at a professional level now but i need to work on texturing and modeling. I might come up with a review template or something.

Dude, I wish you the best. Game developing is actually something I wanted to pursue, but currently, I've been feeling aimless. For real, though, good luck, man.
Unfortunately, I can't really give you detailed critiques on your work, and I apologize for that, but what I can tell you is that I enjoy a great deal of it, and I encourage you to make new custom models to further enhance your skills.
