76  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / General Hacking Discussion / Re: Hacking Quality is down! News at 10! on: September 30, 2012, 12:18:02 PM
Another problem with the two Brawl Vault sections is that no one would visit the [censored]ty section. It'd literally be a "DO NOT ENTER" sorta deal.

In comment to an approval/disapproval system, think about all of the sites that do work like that. Even if something is technically following the rules, it can still be disapproved if it sucks enough ass. I think it works out fine- Even tell the person why their mod was disapproved, that way they can work on fixing it. Hopefully, they'll re-submit it and get it approved.

I actually like that idea you just suggested. Maybe the people approving the hack could also give it a # rating that's posted next to the hack to inform the down loaders and the creator about the quality of the hack. However the hack would still have to get through the GENERAL judgement just to see if it gets put on the vault first. Then the rating would be for after that. So the rating would start at like 5 and go to 10. There would be no 0-4 because every hack that's approved would be at least DECENT which would be about a 5.
But then again like SJS said, that's restricting submition rights sooo......

Dude, that's like... segregation :p I see where you're coming from, but people would feel bad if their stuff was put into the "mediocre" section.

I think there should be maybe a quality control person?

Fair enough but......Idk because a quality control person seems a bit risky. Considering people have different opinions on different hacks. Example, that Arceus hack may be deemed as "AWSOME" to some people and its getting alot of downloads, but to more expirenced hackers it seems crappy due to lack of animation and stuff.....

How about a quality control GROUP?

Question is... How can we improve the vault??

This may sound absurd but.......maybe the vault could be divided into 2 sections for hacks? like one section for the advance hackers and once section for the inexperienced hackers? idk.....

Well I know my hacks are from the best. I would consider them DECENT at best but when I saw that Arceus in the "Most Popular Hack" section I was actually hyped. So I clicked on it and I saw the photos and I was like c'mon maaan WTF is this sh1t? Just by the pictures you could clearly see that this guy just slapped the Arceus model over Lucario and called it a day. He did the same with Giratina as well.

I'm guessing it got so many downloads because people who DON'T hack brawl cannot tell when a model is properly imported over another character correctly from photos.
Perfect example:
There's a Cubone over Squirtal hack
In the preview pictures Cubone is T posing in ALL of them
that has 530 downloads, REALLY?

Its a nice stage. I like balanced stages. Just try to make it more interesting. I actually wish I could stage hack cause I have ideas for lots of fun and balanced stages.

But yeah, like I said, try and make it less symmetrical and you may want to take out a few pokemon. it looks a bit crowded. But don't doubt yourself too much,

*looks for pics to double check his words*

You removed the pics xD

Glad I downloaded the stage then xD

But anyway... yeah, its not bad. Its actually really good. Really wish I knew how to make stages.

Lmao well hopefully you will enjoy it. I will make the edits that you suggested to it and repost it........OR if I'm up to it I might do a full revamp of the stage and make it look like the ingame version. Like I did with my Snowpoint City Gym stage.
81  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Re: Project Pokemon Brawl PSA on: September 25, 2012, 09:12:57 PM
In my opinion, its too symmetrical. I DO like a good and balanced stage, but too much symmetry is boring.

The reason for that is because due to the landscape being similar on both sides, it doesn't matter what side you fight on. Which YES is balanced... but its boring. It IS possible to create balance while having a somewhat exciting looking stage. Try having those platforms only one one side of the stage. And on the other side, put something else. Perhaps nothing... or maybe a moving platform... try something that will make the stage a bit less symmetrical but still balanced overall.  Thats my opinion anyway.

OH I see what you mean, I guess I could remove the platforms on the one side then.

In ALL honesty I actually HATED the way the stage looked when I first made it and I still do even with the new pokemon, animations, trees and other junk I edited to make it better. I do not feel the stage as whole is (or ever was) of good quality which is the main reason why I removed it off the vault in the first place last year. But then I saw that these guys were planning to use it in their stage pack because I saw it in one of the screen shots on the first page.

And I was like "WTH they're actually ganna use that awful stage?" lol
So I figured, well if their ganna use it, I might as well fix it up a bit so It could look a little nicer lol.

I saw in one of your screen shots my Eterna city gym stage that I deleted off the vault like last year 0_0 (im amazed you guys still managed to keep it).....due to usablity issues. However I will be remaking that stage and I could send one of you guys the link to the new version.

I think the reporter should be punished for trying to restrict someone's ideas.

What do you think?

The person who reported that hack did it just to troll. I find it funny how the person who uploaded it said "I'll take my hacks down if you report this" as if his hacks were monsterously good and it would pain people to see his hacks go down. Then says  "I'm serious"
Then his hack gets reported and he doesn't take his hacks down lmfao.

Remember that time I sent you a PM about a rel for your stages? Well this is why Cheesy your stages are included in my stage pack. The stages are finished, I just need to confirm permission with the other stage makers and have the SSS done.

WIN! ok you could message Jasonvalle22 for portaits and SSS and recolors. Tell him POKE MASTER directed you to him. That is unless you had someone else in mind.....to do them

You guys could use any if not all of my Pokemon stages if you need stages
86  Welcome / Rules / Feedback / Brawl Vault / Re: Awards - Names, Descriptions, Complaints on: September 02, 2012, 07:06:31 PM
because i made video tutorials which means I didn't actually write them.
87  Welcome / Rules / Feedback / Brawl Vault / Re: Awards - Names, Descriptions, Complaints on: September 02, 2012, 03:14:52 PM
Can I have the tutorial writer award please?
I made 2  or the m like 2 days ago......or do I have to literally "WRITE" a tutorial?
88  Welcome / Rules / Feedback / Brawl Vault / Re: Awards - Names, Descriptions, Complaints on: September 01, 2012, 07:19:58 PM
SJ brought this up on MSN once, and I thought it was a good idea.

You make, at least, a certain number of legit reports, and you get this. This could be the top award for it.

lmao i love it! very creative and unique concept.

In that case, he should split the DL into 2 separate ones and have a submissions for each. He's giving the choice of DLĂng the one on Marth or the other one with 2 submissions, bt ast the same time, forcing the users to DL both the version at this moment. What he's doing is the equivalent of me submitting a PSA's .PAC flagged as "PSA", and then make another Submission flagged as "Other (Effects, Final smashes, Motion, etc)" both leading to the same Download Link: Stupid.

oh ok now that makes more sense. my apologies
90  Welcome / Rules / Feedback / Brawl Vault / Re: Brawl Vault Problems, Updates, and Suggestions on: September 01, 2012, 12:11:57 PM
They both had the same Download Link.

yes , But his download rar contains 2 different folders with pcs and pac files to go over wario and marth
