getting an error message in second step of ASH..help please

in the second step of ASH i get an error message saying "ImNew: no alpha layer in file (C:\my stuff i edited) for image 0"...I used Photoshop to edit my textures. Can anyone tell me the reason behind this error and how to fix it? Since im here also so is it possible to edit just one eye for a character? Im trying to create an Old Snake texture complete with his Solid Eye eye patch..but when i loaded up the texture in the game, the eye is still there and both eyes have like a weird looking white outline or something..any help with this as well?

Add an alpha channel. I'm a GIMP user but... got this off google.

And no, you cannot edit just one eye. --- Even with the full-faced character such as snake. (Many others have tried eye-patches in the past for DemoMan textures >.<)
