Hello all.

Posted this on SmashBoards, but it's probably more relevant to KittyCorp's forums.

I was following this KittyCorp tutorial on how to vertex hack a character. The character in question is Lucas.

I made the texture black for the most part (attempting to create the Limbo protagonist).

I then tried vertex hacking the hair. After creating the new .mdl0 with DasDonkey's VertexBox and replacing the old .mdl0, I end up seeing this in the BrawlBox preview:

I figured that the hair vertex was a bit wonky, so I tried hacking the body instead.

Didn't work. I ended up with the same odd black space. Rotating the preview would shift the black space around.

Has anyone experienced this problem before? Help would be much appreciated!

EDIT: Also, NOT making any changes at all in Autodesk 3ds (just importing and immediately exporting) creates this problem.

In-depth steps:

1. Export Lucas model as model.mdl0 in BrawlBox
2. Determine Polygon 6 as Lucas's Hair
3. Determine Vertex Set 4 as Polygon 6's Vertex Set
4. Determine FitLucas00_HeadM_FitLucas00_Hair's ID as Vertex Set 4
5. Export FitLucas00_HeadM_FitLucas00_Hair as vertex.ddf
6. Use VertexBox to create DDV.3ds out of model.mdl0 and vertex.ddf
7. Open DDV.3ds in Anim8tor
8. Export DDV.3ds as editthis.3ds
9. Open editthis.3ds in Autodesk 3ds Max
10. Modify or Leave Alone (it screws up either way...)
11. Export as did.3ds
12. Open did.3ds in Anim8tor
13. Export did.3ds and replace DDV.3ds
14. Use VertexBox to place DDV.3ds over model.mdl0
15. Determined mdl0 offset of FitLucas00_HeadM_FitLucas00_Hair to be -169280
16. Replaced
17. Use BrawlBox to replace current .mdl0 with the new .mdl0
18. Preview black space

Well, I have had this problem countless times, and I figured out that later versions of anim8or tend to cause it, so I posted a thread in the tutorials and guides section called blender issue resolved. It had a link to an old version of anim8or. try using it.
