I'm not new to brawl hacking or anything, but whenever I try to replace ANY sort of stage or character name I replace the original only to see that my edited one shows up with a black background and some glitched lines and it doesn't show up properly.

I export the original file, then use MS Paint to edit them, then I replace the original and it appears messed up. Any help? =(

Get either Gimp (free Cheesy) or PhotoShop (not free, but really good). As far as I know the only time MSPaint doesn't screw up textures is with Kirby. It's because MSPaint alwys saves the textures (and every image) without transparancy.

    BTW Nice avatar Cheesy

Yes, edit it with Gimp (without changing the texture format) should work. Except for textures that don't support transparancy.

That's weird, I always change my names in MS Paint and it works fine, but I usually just cut and paste from other names, so maybe you're using colors that aren't in that texture's palette.
