I watched a video tut made by a kc member on a site (no idea the creators name though), that briefly showed them creating and applying their custom color pallet to the finishing CSP..

This is the only thing I haven't been able to.. They included a Master Index list so my CSP's have greatly improved. Just want to get the pallet thing working.

also.. been awhile since I've done the in-game small pics.. Whats the most I can index for those?

if you import to brawlbox, you shouldn't have to worry about the pallet

    EDIT:
    sratch that...
I use paint shop pro 7 to deal with pallets

just decrease the color depth to 256...
set the transparent color (if any)
and save as a gif and replace the texture in brawlbox

that's about the only time I worry about the pallet...

I usually just save as a png and let brawlbox do the work of creating the pallet
(not the best quality... but eh... it works)

you have been through a lot of hassle. I've watched every topic you posted on this, and most of them seemed to disintegrate gradually.
But the coolest part was that you didn't stop working on it despite that.

There is a drawback to indexing images with The GIMP and/or Photoshop.

If an image has transparency, when you index it, via The GIMP or Photoshop, the number of transparent colors reduces to "1", removing all signs of semi-transparency.  If you let BrawlBox do all the indexing, however, the semi-transparent colors will remain in tact.

This problem is negated if the image has nothing transparent or has no semi-transparent colors to start out.

Also, indexed images don't have an Alpha Layer when saved as TarGA (.tga) images, but they do keep the Alpha Layer when saved as either GIF or PNG images.

Note: Semi-transparent colors are colors that are 1%-99% visible.  If 0%, the color is fully transparent, while 100% is fully visible.

In my experience, if you're using Brawl Box you almost never have to create a palette or index your image, just save it as a png. If you do load a CSP and the preview looks like crap, just image>mode>indexed and set t to, like, 255.

I realize this is pretty much what the above posts say, just wanted to simplify.
