Vertex editing problem (unable to create 3DS)

When I try to create a 3DS file from the capsule from common3.pac, Vertex Box says:

Errorjava.io.EOFException

Then creates a 3DS file with a single point in it.

I'm using the version that works with anim8or.

The vertex format for items are different from character models. You can't vertex them.
