I am completely lost with csp hacking. I've watch several tutorials and tied almost everything. And for some reason my computer won't open the files i export from brawlbox, so is there any certain software I need to download?

Another question, do you have to export the photo to photoshop or gimp, or can you just replace it? I tried replacing it and everything, but it still won't show up. If someone would please help you have no idea how appreciative I would be.

When you export the CSP from BrawlBox, make sure you add ".png" at the end of its name. Do that and see if it works.

Example: If exporting a Link CSP, it will by default have it named "MenSelchrFaceB.021". Your computer will think it's a "021" file because it thinks the ".021" after "MenSelchrFaceB" is a file extension, but it's not. Just add ".png" at the end of this name -- MenSelchrFaceB.021.png.

Also, I don't quite understand your second question. Only time you should be using GIMP or PS is when you're making CSPs.

You don't know how much you just helped, thank you Smiley

The second question I had had to do with replacing the csp. Do you just click replace and do that, or do you have to export it replace it there. When I just replace it, it doesn't show up

You're trying to replace an existing CSP? Just make a new CSP in GIMP or PS, save it as a .png (don't forget to index the image before you save), then go back in BB and replace the CSP with your new one.

In brawlbox export the png that the csp is that you are editing.  Make sure you keep the same dimensions or it won't work.  When your done editing it make sure that when you replace it, that you don't change the settings to replace it or else it might mess it up.  That's basically it though

In GIMP go to Image > Mode > Indexed, and index it. I usually index it at 255 colors which it's always set to.

You can also type .tga to save the image as a TarGA image.  BrawlBox can also index your texture imports while maintaining any semi-transparent colors that they have.  Indexing images with image editors will end up reducing the transparent color amount to "1".
