Okay, I'm not really a competitive Brawl player, so I decided to replace the Smashville stage with the Target Smash stages just for the heck of it. To be more specific, I don't want to have one level of Target Smash replace every version of Smashville, or have one of the levels load randomly each time I play it, but to have a certain level of Target Smash replace each version of Smashville. Basically, the later the time is on Smashville, the higher the level of the Target Smash that loads. So I downloaded the .pac files for every level of Target Smash, as well as the .rel file for Target Smash. Then I converted the .rel file to one that effects Smashville using Bero's stage switcher. Finally, I renamed each of the Target Smash stage files as Smashville stage files. But it didn't work and when I choose Smashville the game just freezes.

So is this even possible? When I think about it now, I'm not even sure if you can replace a normal stage with Target Smash. And when I was using the stage switcher, I don't think I could choose different versions of a stage, so it's not like I could use multiple .rel files. Anyway, any help would be appreciated.

So are people ignoring my topic? Or is it just that no one knows the answer to my question?

The target smash stages are a bit different.
In fact, many target smash stages would occasionally crash if ported perfectly, because of spike collision functionality.
The best way would probably be to port the stage model file, the texture data, and the collision data over the smashville stages themselves.
And even then, all of the animals would have to be removed.....
    A large task.

Really? So for someone like me, who has no interest in creating or editting the stages themselves, it's not really worth it? Even before I got into hacking, I've seen people online in Basic Brawl who have everyone play Target Test or Homerun Contest stages... Do they use some cheats completely unrelated to the stuff on this site?

Also, what if I want to change the type of stage that loads when you choose a stage with multiple versions? For instance, I was also going to replace the three versions of Snake's stage with Metal Cavern, Battlefield, and Final Destination. (all from the N64 Smash Bros.) Those three stages could be based off of different stages in the original game, but when I create a .rel file for each of them they would all have the same name (st_metalgear.rel). Since I can't have three files with the same name, would I need to settle for one type of replacement stage for all three versions?

    Those were probably just codes.
