This is really pissing me off (SSS screen not working)

ok. im using stage expansion hack. i just added 5 more stages to it today, making all the extra slots full. the file is 11.5MB. the original common5.pac is 11.6MB. so im not over the file size there. just for the hecko of it tho, i changed all the Icons so they are CMPR's. That lowered the file size to 11.4MB, and it worked. however... the icons had the names of the stage that they were suppose to be... instead of the icon  

so i changed them all back to their original formats, and the filesize is still 11.5MB... and the game crashes at the SSS screen  

what am i suppose to dooo

Maybe you replaced the wrong file in the selmap.pac or you replaced the right file but with the wrong picture. MenSelmapIcon.## is the file that you need to replace if you're trying to put a custom stage icon. MenSelmapFrontStname.## is the file for custom stage names.

Try setting your MenSelmapPrevbase.## to a width and height of 176

If not that then it may be the MenSelmapIcon_shadow file. Yours doesn't have it.

I don't see any other difference in files compared to the original common5.pac

im pretty sure if i make the picture size bigger, then the file will get bigger. im trying to make the filesize SMALLER.
