until the HexEdit link gets fixed,
this is posted here to keep everyone from bugging me about it
(not that it's happened very often) >_>

HexEdit 40 beta (recommended suggestion)
download: http://www.box.net/shared/dmgiblxee9

free, no known bugs, and many new features.
HexEdit's built-in template editor makes it easy to view the data of different files
you can get templates (made for smash hacking) here:
http://brawlimports.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=templates
a screenshot: :)

the next version I release will be able to highlight the hex values in different colors
(defined by the template)

the screenshot is actually my MDL0 template loading a version11 mdl0
brawl uses version9 mdl0s

EDIT:
I'll be releasing any templates I make here :)
well, more like notifying about the release >_>

you have been through a lot of hassle. I've watched every topic you posted on this, and most of them seemed to disintegrate gradually.
But the coolest part was that you didn't stop working on it despite that.

you're doing more with your life right now than probably most other people around you. You're a valuable asset to the Smash community. So yeah, you should be proud.

You do have a gift which I've seen many developers use to their advantage. You can become a great coder, and with all of those ideas I think you can really build something great.
