Allstar Mode Freezing Problem

I apologize if this wasn't the correct place for me to post this. But i figured this topic would be appropriate here. My problem is that I can't play Allstar Mode. The game freezes after I select a character and press start. It's a silent freeze. I'm not sure what the problem is. I've had this problem for I think a couple of years, now. And while it is minor, I would still like to be able to play Allstar mode again. Any ideas on how I could fix this problem? I'm kinda stumped. Thanks.

EDIT- I hear that modifying the SSS (Stage Select Screen) in any way will cause Allstar Mode to freeze. Still not sure if that's the problem, though.

I'm not using brawl +. And it can't be because of a hack over the allstar room, because all-star mode immediately begins at flat zone 2. You never go to the all-star room until after you defeat game & watch. And no, there's no hack over flat zone 2. So it couldn't be either one of those. It looks like no one else is going to be replying here, so I guess I'll just have to deal without allstar mode then. I'll assume it's because of Phantomwing's Stage Expansion Code. Cheers.
