BEFORE I START: I'd just like to note that I really did not want to join KC:MM just to make posts concerning my problem and then go back to lurking around when it's fixed, but I don't know what to do any more. (I'm NTSC btw.)

So I was a happy dude playing hacked Brawl happily through Gecko OS when one day after "NOW LOADING..." the screen stayed black and just froze on me (without the stupid beep). I took a break from Brawl then found Riivolution and after much trouble I set it up.

Things were going great with Riivolution for about 1 to 2 days when today something went wrong. I loaded it up and the hacks were there... but the codes did not take effect. So I was left with Brawl's default very-big CSS icons in an order that I didn't really like, I wasn't able to start a match with just myself, and the pause camera was restricted once again. I tried the VI Hook, the Joypad Hook, the GXDraw Hook (which had worked fine before today), the GXFlush Hook, and the AxNextFrame Hook. All of those "hooks" didn't boot up the codes.

So I decided to go back to Gecko OS and it miraculously didn't freeze. All menus were default but the codes did load, my CSS in the custom order I preferred it. I didn't really care about the menu hacks not loading because Riivolution required "_en" after specific files which I had left there. I went into a one-player match picking Ike in Rumble Falls and expecting Cloud in Rumble Falls+. But then I discovered the texture/vertex/PSA/stage hacks didn't load!

Thus, I'm left with Gecko OS loading just the codes or Riivolution just loading the texture/vertex/PSA/stage hacks. I've followed all guides I could find and no good has resulted from this predicament. I'd really like to use my codes with the hacks 'cause the CSS just doesn't make sense without the order I put the characters in. I'd also like the codes because without Infinite Jumps and Invincibility I suck more, obviously. I don't really mind being restricted to two jumps and flinching from damage but I'd really like my custom CSS and an unrestricted pause camera, among other codes.

So it's either Gecko OS = codes or Riivolution = hacks. I'd really like a solution to this, anything that results in Gecko OS = both or Riivolution = both. Preferably Riivolution but help would be appreciated. And to reiterate, I don't like joining KC:MM just for a solution and then disappearing to the lurk shadows but I really need a solution.

And (I know this is probably invitations to do this but) please don't go "tl;dr" or anything like it.

1.Gecko os is probably freezing from info.pac being to big
    do you have it/modified it?

2.Riivolution won't load codes unless you have a xml that tells it to/have codehandler.bin

    Hope this helps

Well with Gecko OS it doesn't freeze now, but it loads only codes, no hacks. In any case, I have a 392 KB info.pac

For Riivolution I have the File Patch XML, Ocarina XML, and the codehandler.bin.

And thanks for taking the time to try and help.

You have the File patch code on right? And the info.pac needs to be one kb smaller

Where are you putting the xmls/codehandler at?

    The details list info.pac as 392 KB but when I click on it it's simply 391 KB so idk about that. But I think I've found the Gecko OS solution. I turned off the File Patch for Riivolution ^^;

The XMLs and codehandler are in a riivolution folder in the root of the Card.

1.Try lowering the file size just a litte bit more

2.Try redownloading the codehandler and see if it works

I didn't see the need for the info.pac so I took that off the Card.

The codehandler.bin was re-downloaded prior to making this topic.

(Can't see dates and times for posts, so dunno if problem solved by now)
Had you removed the SD card at all to make some changes before it started not working?
Just a couple days ago, I put in my SD card, started up Gecko OS, hoping for some Brawl Minus. The menu didn't load. Tried playing, characters weren't hacked, and the stages weren't different. Custom music was also back to normal. But the codes loaded perfectly (Default Settings Modifier, Hybrid Air Dodge, etc)
And then I took it out, tried to edit some files, and noticed the SD card was locked. Maybe solves the problem? I dunno about Riivolution, but anyways, that's my little two cents.
