Mewtwo hack overwrite wario instead of peach? and add more colors?

Hey guys I am just learning about brawl hacking and had a question about the hacks for characters that overwrite other ones.  I was looking to replace Wario with Mewtwo (I know there is one for him) but I found one that does not have any glitches in it for peach.  Im wondering if I can just rename the files and put them in peach's since I assume they are completely overwriting the original characters mechanics. Another example would be a Buu that replaces Lucario's file , but again I rather not replace lucario.  The Wario hack that would be replacing him but not sure if this one is better then peach's.

Also my second question was is there a wat to add more options to the color list such as just simply putting more files example being FitLink06.pac but ordinarily going only to FitLink05.pac.

Porting characters requires REL files so you can't rename them.  it's the REL (in this case a Marth rel, because Lucario can't normally be ported) tat determines where the characters goes so you would have to use a Marth rel to make Lucario --> whoever you want.  If you rename the files and try it - - your game will freeze.
