Help With Signatures

This may seem like a very stupid question to those of you who already know how to make and use signatures, but... please can someone tell me what I need to do to make a signature and how to set it up on my profile? Please, I've always wanted to make myself one!

It matters on what type of signature you want. I made my little siggy using ASCII.
