High five if you clicked on this thread because of the name! XD

YA, so my Wii's drive finally kicked the bucket, meaning I can't play actual "disc" games anymore. Luckily, I had a HardDrive with everything backed up, so that's no problem.

HOWEVER, I knew back then that loading hacks with a Brawl Disc was far easier than playing it from a HardDrive, for obvious reasons. It worked fine with Riivolution, but the minute I switched to USBLoaderGX (with Ocarina on, I assure you), the hacks stopped working, just as I suspected.  >_>

The hacks, RSBE01 Gtc. file, GameConfig txt. file and the whole kit have been left untouched, so it's without a doubt that THAT's not the source of the problem (considering I just JUST loaded textures perfectly while using the disc).   -_-"
SO, you guys probably can guess my question by now. "How to load hacks while playing Brawl from a HardDrive?"

It would be preferable to have direct answers with no "obvious" questions like "WHATS YOUR CIOS?" or "DIDNT YOU CHECK THIS SITE BE4 POSTING THIS?". The first question doesn't really matter 'cause it worked a few hours ago, and as for the second question, people just seem to be too vague at answering my obvious question. I've heard people using this "Snapshot method" but I have no idea if it actually works (AKA Im pretty much lazy; you guys tell me about it. Awesome Face

WELL THEN, Im gonna go get some shut eye. It would be nice to have some answers by tomorrow, even if it's nonsense answers (just to show that my question is kicking around). THANKS EVERYBODAY.

First of all, you may have to unstub the IOSes that the USB Loaders use.  You'll then have to install the custom IOSes to replace the stubbed ones.

The recommended cIOSs to get are Hermes' IOS222 (v2-v5) and Waninkoko's IOS249 (v14-v20b).  Google them up to get the links for them.  Installing custom IOS223 and IOS250 may also come in handy as well.

Now, USB Loader GX was nothing but bad luck for me, but WiiFlow gave me the least issues.  I've been able to run my Ocarina codes with WiiFlow, as long as they're placed in...

    SD:\wiiflow\codes\gct\

On a side note, WiiFlow is the only USB Loader that I know of, that can install Wii ISOs onto NTFS file system devices.  All the others are much less friendly to that file system.

WELL, that pretty much sums everything up. With both cIOS's already installed, I suppose the only thing left to do is to switch to it before playing.   >.<

BY GOLLY I guess it's a good thing that you can use Wiiflow, because that's the one that I also used (I only mentioned USBLoaderGX 'cause I thought people had more luck with it).

And to top it off, I also use a NTSF HardDrive.

Guess I should get maximum results when I try this later. Thanks!

    *bump*  Im srs here
I hope you guys are up for a new challenge.  :l

    RECAP:
I'm booting Brawl from a HardDrive. I want to apply hacks to it. I have every possible file that I need, precisely placed. I boot Brawl with Wiiflow (with Ocarina on I assure you), no difference.  MSNG (I wish I knew what it stands for. :O ) suggests that I switch IOS (tried 222, 223, 249).
    AND SO I DID…  *GASP!*  O_o

    Results: No textures or any kind of hacks (apart from a few characters that switched places on the CSS). The problem appears to be that the USBLoaders don’t want to load the “File Patch Code” in the GTC file. Tried with Wiiflow & USBLoader GX (the latest one, which is like 4 days old, and clearly says it supports Brawl+).  -_-;

Question: What can I possibly do now to load textures while booting Brawl from a USB loader?
    Thankz anywayz guyz. ^_^

Mario N Sonic Guy, I believe.

But to answer your problem, if all else fails, you could install Darkcorp. It patches like every single IOS.
That's how I got Neogamma to work for me.

There's no way to get the wii to read discs again if the disc drive died, don't go giving him ideas. You can't fix a hardware issue through software >.>

You're using USB Loader GX? Been ages since I used that but I remember from back when I did it didn't support more than 256 lines of code.

Try configurable USB loader. Never had any issues with that one.
