noob hacker needs halp

Idk if im the only one using dolphin instead o f a real wii to play brawl so ive seen a few utorials but they all infer that i have a wii.
just wanted some advice on what i should do differently because i am using the dolphin emulator. or if there as anyone else out there using it.
