    Now bare with me, because this is possibly a VERY noobish question, but have any particularly adventurous hackers tried to replace the slots the game uses for custom stages with new stage hacks?  Just think about it, if this could be figured out we could have INFINITE stages without ever having to replace the originals!  Granted, I don't know much about stage replacement, and I know even less about how custom stages fit into it all, so if this is completely impossible, feel free to tell me so and lock the thread.  But if I'm actually onto something here...  Happy Face

    IDK if this belongs here or not, but we can't have infinite stages. I think we CAN combine Dantarion's ASL code and PW's Stage Expansion code to get a ton of stages.

    In english please?  Or at least direct me to threads where those codes are dicussed.  I don't know the first thing about either of those codes...

    I think people have looked into this, and it's not possible to use the custom stage list thing for hacked stages. It's a very different format.
    On this page is a link to download MK26's tutorial on using PW's code. I'm going to post my own in a bit on the Tutorials section here.

    No. Custom stages are very much like replays iirc, they use the models from in the game and only store the positions where the pieces are.

    The .pac files are all the pieces used and their textures, the .bin files are where the pieces are placed for the specific stage (and the rest of the misc info).

    Also i lurk from time to time, waiting to see if anything new has happened. I'm surprised there's no model importer yet, almost enough info for a whole model importer to be built is floating around.
