Well, I think that the taller thing is a bug in majora's, since you usually don't have any reference point to compare the height of both characters. I think he should be as tall as adult Link.

What about their size relative to the bosses? It's obvious that FD Link is much taller than adult Link when you realize that FDL almost matches the height of the first boss. |

And (through hacking) I compared the size to an npc and Link grew from one-half the size to nearly one and a half!
