Using Item Hacks...

Can someone explain to me how to use item hacks (and I mean the regular items, not the Pokemon or Assist Trophies hacks)? I haven't been able to find a guide that explains how that works...

whats the file called? if its common3 it goes in pf/system/

You have to download the common3_en.pac that you can find in the resources of the vault in data Partition NTSC-U....
Then open it, go to ItmCommonBrres and you'll find every item....^^
then export the texture, modify it, import it, save and you're done ^^
