If you have the updated homebrew channel you can safely update to 4.3. HBC now has a new title id and the new system menu can't find or delete it. (system menu updates search for the HBC title id to delete it) But why the hell would you want to update to 4.3?

So if I get the newest version of HBC, I can update normally (through Nintendo) and it won't affect any of my hacks? I'm curious, because I really want to play Monster Hunter Tri, but I'm having trouble finding a way to do so using backup loaders.

Don't update! Install this to play Monster Hunter with backup loaders. Instructions are inside. After that, in your backup loader choose to load Monster Hunter with ios 222. Then it should work.

Ios 222 is dangereous and I wouldn't reccomend that either. What happens if you do it wrong? All your saved games on the Hardrive are deleted

when you have hbc, and any mods on your wii, you don't update. period. why bother. you aren't getting any new content, and even if you were, it would probably suck anyways. just don't.

Actually installing ios 222 is really simple. Less complicated and time consuming than installing homebrew channel. As long as you know enough english to understand the instructions, nothing can go wrong.

1 Q for anyone who has 4.3:
is there a new wii-net channel?? I can't check because it wants me to update...
I have the new HBC... but I'm afraid of updating because of the wii-brick thing going around...

I don't have 4.3, but I can answer your question. The only channel that is updated is the Wii Shop Channel. I have the new HBC... but I'm afraid of updating because of the wii-brick thing going around...
Updating won't brick your Wii. The worst it could do is remove homebrew.
