I changed the CSPs i wanted to as instructed in the N00B's guide thread.

I'm using the common5_en.pac that was provided

After putting the memory card in the wii's slot and starting up the game its fine. then as soon as i hit brawl the game freezes. any help anyone?

I'm using riivolution btw

    You might've changed the texture format of your portraits by mistake.  All portraits are in CI8 format, and use RGB5A3 palettes.

    Also, are the portraits sized correctly?  They have to be 128 pixels wide and 160 pixels tall, or else you'll get game crashes.

    Not only that but BrawlBox crashes on that as well Undecided

    Fixxed the problem! some of them had too many colors. so i turned it from 256 to 240 and now it works perfectly!

    I've occasionally encountered a similar problem, in terms of the palettes.  However, you'd notice it more easily when you get an error message while compressing the BRRES file that the portraits are in.

    In dilemmas like that, you need to just adjust your custom portrait's palette until you finally get the compression to work on the BRRES file.
