Pokemon trainer help

I have 2 questions about hacks about the pokemon trainer. See I use him in battle alot and I am using the 3 Johto pokemon hacks (Typhlosion, Bayleaf, and Totodile). Every single one works fine, but when I switch pokemon or I die,  the 3 pokemon revert to their normal skins. Anyway to fix this

Also I try to use the Independant pokemon code cause I like playing as Ivysaur and Charizard, but I perfer to just play as one of them. but everytime I activate the code and launch the game, I freezes before the game starts up, how can I fix this?

You must have forgot to add the .pac files along with the .pcs files.  .pac files are needed for any character that switches to another character.  Try adding the .pac files for the various johto vertex hacks and I'm sure that they will work properly.

As for the codes, I really can't help you there.  I know that Brawl+ has an individual PKMN code and Brawl- has it so that you don't switch mons when you die, but I don't know about using the code outside of those bigger hacks.  Sorry.
