(SOLVED) This freezes for no clear reason... Please help!

either vBrawl or hacked Brawl, whenever Brawl loads songs in Mushroomy Kingdom past the first underground song, it freezes.

here is the song list as it appears in My Music for Mushroomy Kingdom

Ground Theme (Super Mario Bros.)
Ground Theme 2 (Super Mario Bros.)
Gritzy Desert
---Underground--------------------------------------------------
Underground Theme (Super Mario Bros.) <-- freezes after I try to look at a song past this one
Underwater Theme (Super Mario Bros.)
Underground Theme (Super Mario Land)

Why is this happening?

maybe some other helpful info:
 - I have a Final Destination .rel over Mushroomy Kingdom and custom-made (like Metal Mario stage) stages over both of the original ones. I dunno if the .rel is influencing the music or not though, but the stages themselves are not freezing, because I have tested it with just the first underground song.

 - I can't tell if the song from Super Mario Land freezes or not, since I cannot alter how often a song plays anymore..

 - What I have done in the past is erase my save file for brawl and play through the whole game in vBrawl, unlocking all the songs again. it did not freeze then... however, when I load my file patch stuff from the SD Card, it freezes again... then it freezes on vBrawl too. it's a pain playing through the whole game again, and I just want to know how to either fix this or prevent it from happening again

Try removing the custom stage that replaces Mushroomy Kingdom, then play on it to rule out if it is the rel or not

ok thanks it's working now. I put custom songs back in after the code and they don't freeze. I was more careful about the stages and they don't freeze either, but I don't think the .rel was to blame, which was my first guess. either way, the code you put up really helped. thanks
