    Blah, screw it. Re-enabled imageshack.

It might not be visible to some people... but I don't have a better alternative in the mean time. So many people can't figure out how to copy-paste a damn image link from another site! Geez! >.<

I dunno if this was suggested before, and there was even a thread made on it, but can there be a separate "newest hacks" list for music? Sometimes, huge amounts of music are put on tha vault, pushing new vertex/stage/texture/psa hacks off the list entirely.

It'd be a better way of spacing them out.

    Suggestionsssssss

    1. i think that there should be a section in the vault just for Gecko OS codes.

    2. ik this is a long way from now... but with Phantom Wing's Cloning Engine, a new section in the Vault sould be made for the clones

    that is all Awesome Face

Top doesn't count collab credit. With how it's set up, it's actually impossible to factor that in.
Wait, so isn't the collab thing basically useless then?
And how come that's impossible to factor in?
It calculates per user and comes up in searches.
Explaining why it doesn't work on the main page be hard.
Harder than it'd be to implement it?

    I still want to know.

    Blame Jack.

I'll put this as simply as I can.

A brawl vault entry is stored as...

HackName, ByUserID, ..., ..., ..., CollabUserIDs (comma separated)

In a user's profile, I can search for all hacks just by...
Select count(*) FROM BrawlVault WHERE ByUserID = # OR CollabUserIDs LIKE '%#%'

It'll return any hack with said user's number and count them up.

But... the stats page uses a different query

Select count(*) FROM BrawlVault GROUP BY ByUserID

Which... simple groups all hacks by user ID and counts each set individually. It cannot be done with ByCollabUserIDs easily as it would have to search every single user individually, roughly 50k searches, compared to 1.

So how does it show up correctly on our profiles (counting collabs)?

    There might be a way...

EDIT: I'm a complete noob at programming (I only used programming in Flash a.k.a. action script) but maybe this could work.

You'd make it so every user has a unique ID for the collaborations like the ID we already have (ex: mine is 4477, the collab ID would be 4477C)

Everytime a hack that has me as a collab. gets a download, the previous value stored in 4477C would go up by 1.

Then at the main page, it would sum up 4477 + 4477C to get the total downloads.

Or maybe just make it so that 4477 would store up points for downloads AND collab downloads.

Maybe what I'm saying is complete [censored], but I'm just trying to help.  Undecided

That would work, but it would also require additional storage for every single hack and an additional command every time the hack is downloaded.

While it doesn't seem like much, multiply that by how many downloads happen each minute; so now both storage and processing are increased by some multiple (I did try recording downloads and matching to IPs for about a day... the log was already several MB)

I can get it to work... but almost every way has an undesired storage or processing sideaffect. The blog's past issues (sql connection overloads, pages simply not loading) were pretty similar to what I worried about; the blog stores tons of information per comment... even more when ratings and such are involved.
