recently, any music i put on final destination seems to play normally then starts going crazy-sounding-static.

i ran into this problem before with a different stage but i forgot how to fix it.
id really appreciate the help, as i would like to play FD hacked stages without getting the crapped scared
outta me cuz its loud when it does it!  I see what you did there ...

    try defraging your SD card

or make sure the sample rate of the music is at the proper setting

You could also try re-downloading the .brstm file and replace the old one with it. I've done that before and it worked.

In the electronic music world when you hear static it means the program using the song doesn't understand what its being fed so it sends it out as white noise instead.
This is a really weird situation as I've never heard of anything like this.
