I just recently stumbled across this page and was told to go here. I followed the guide as best i can, and i got the Homebrew channel installed on my wii. I'm up to the point where i had to install the code manager and put in the game ID. But what i dont understand is the codes. Is it necessary to install the hacked character models? or is it just for cheat codes?
I downloaded a few files that looked cool, i downloaded that big naruto hack for Ike, and the Kratos, Ichigo, and Toshiro hack for Marth. Could anyone explain how to install them on my game?
Do i only have to create that folder directory for the characters and put the files in the proper folder, pop the SD card into the Wii, open up homebrew channel, and the channel will do the rest for me?

Alright, i finally realized i had to put in that code into code manager and store it onto my SD card. I created the folders in my SD card like the guide said "F:\private\wii\app\RSBE01\pf\Fighter\marth\" and extracted the Kratos, and Toshiro files at the end of that directory. Then put the card into the wii, into homebrew channel, went into gecko, launched the game, and no change to Marth. Any ideas what i'm doing wrong? missing files anywhere? Edit: I went into Gecko again and checked the config options menu, and tried turning on the patch install thing and the game didnt find patch to install. So either i'm not suppose to bother with that, or I did something wrong. Well, i'mma turn in for the night. Thanx in advance for any help anyone gives, i'd really appreciate it.

It must be: "F:\private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\Fighter\marth\" NOT "F:\private\wii\app\RSBE01\pf\Fighter\marth\"

My mind is like lightning, one brilliant flash and it's gone... Remember brawlbox 0.64b DOES NOT WORK! download .63 or under or it will give you problems later. Download to .63 modset: http://www.mediafire.com/?ud5s402d8u6ad6k#

Ok, just got back from work. I'm gonna try it out. And i've got 2 files in the SD card that i'm trying out. "FitMarth03.pac" and "FitMarth03.pcs". I'm assuming that's the 4th 'color' of marth. So am i to assume that i can rename the numbers between 00-05 at my leisure without messing up the setup? This way if i get 2 different marth downloads using the same number, i can use them both if i change the number on one of them right?

I changed it to "F:\private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\Fighter\marth\", made sure i had the "FitMarth03.pac" and "FitMarth03.pcs" in that folder, and i added in the Toshiro one too, "FitMarth00.pcs". Then i put the SD card in the wii, booted up homebrew, loaded gecko, clicked the "Yes" in the Patch Install, and it gave me the message "SD patch file not found".
Do i need to add in a specific code into the code manager for each file i load?

Well, have some code in the code folder, but i'm not sure if that's the one i need. I downloaded the gecko thing in the guide and it came with a code file. I put that one in the code folder.

If it is a .gct file it goes in F:\codes, if it is a .txt file it goes in F:\txtcodes.

Ya, the code is the same as the one from the guide on the top of this "Help" board. Let me type out my directories so that you can check my spelling on folder names and make sure the folders are in the right place. I have 3 folders on the Card, and i'll list what i have in each folder too.
"F:\private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\Fighter\marth" FitMarth00.pcs, FitMarth03.pac, FitMarth03.pcs
"F:\codes" RSBE01.gct
"F:\apps\Gecko1931" boot.elf, icon.png, meta.xml
"F:\apps\homebrew_browser" boot.dol, icon.png, loop.mod, meta.xml, settings.xml

Is it necessary to have a "F:\txtcodes" folder? Or is it just a folder to hold all the txt files? I didnt put Code manager on the SD card because i didnt think it was necessary for the actual program to be on it. I left it on my computer's hard drive and used it there.

What's the issue? You don't need "txtcodes" folder(I don't have one nor need one).

You might just want to download a pre-made pack, either on the Vault (check the misc. section) or at smashmods.com Brawl+, Brawl-, and Balanced Brawl are all popular, good hacks. I'd recommend balanced brawl (or maybe brawl+); if you don't like the movesets, just delete them. From there, all the directories and codes should be in the right place, so unless there's something extremely messed up, it should work.

so if i download a pre-made pack, i just extract it to my SD card, pop it into my Wii, go to homebrew channel, then gecko, and launch game, and everything should work effectively? Do i still need to have the install patch option set to yes?
Edit: I went to the misc section on the site and noticed a bunch of packs, which one should i download? I dont think i need the music packs. Any recommendations? I just need something to make sure i have all the character info in the right places.
